    Dura's BACK!

Here's a back shot. Couldn't get it horizontal in the upload. If anyone here can do that I'd appreciate it. Looking ahead to off season where I'm going to focus on more over all thickness, particularly in mid back/traps and lower back to bring out the so-called Christmas tree. I've never really done deadlifts before and it shows. Next year, I'll be "back"..... with an X-mas tree attached.

I can't do squats anymore. I injured my knees doing reg squats - I didn't warm up enough and I jumped up to 365 and injured both knees. Assessing the injury required an MRI and I didn't have coverage for that so.....it's a soft tissue issue.

Last time I tried reg squats it didn't feel right and I was laid up for 3 mos. So I do Smith Machine squats with my legs placed forward and with a narrow stance. I do leg extensions, leg presses, walking dumbell lunges, leg curls, and stiff leg deads. I do quads and hams on different days. Fifteen sets for quads and 12-15 for hams. Reps are from 4-15.

This off season I'm going to emphasize lower range (ass to the grass) movements with a wider stance and toes pointed out 45 degrees to hit the vastus medialus (tear drop) and get that going like the good ole days. I'm also going add some hacks and front squats (smith machine) if my knees can take it. I also might opt for some pre-exhaustian or "blood volume type training so I can get into the fiber without putting heavy stress on my knee joints. I'm trying to work around these ole vulnerable knees.

I think ya look super Mike. Great job man, obviously taking things very seriously. That SUCKS with the knees. I love to squat heavy. Hopefully I'll stay fortunate by being as careful as I can.

Thanks. Yeh be smart. I wasn't when I was young and all I cared about was strength - I was even warned but I chose to be thick headed and now I'm paying the price for bad judgement. I've made alot of mistakes along the way.
