DOC. SUS WOnder if you have any info on Chronic Pain

My fiancee has a couple of work related injuries to her neck and upper back. The official diagnosis after the last is now chronic pain. She is taking cognitive courses now that are helping but has been suggested for her to join a gym. I have done searches and found some info. mostly in fibremyalga (spelling?) sites which seem quite similiar but tend to be mostly for low back. Her PT has some suggestions just looking for as much info as possible.

Thanks in advance for any you might have.

has she gone to apain management center? most chronic injuries are treated with heat, or treated with heat , ice heat alternation. other things that may help besides crazy pain killers, accupuncture, massage therapy, yoga, tai chi, stretching, chiropractic try all the conservative therapys first before considering anything more drastic

Thanks. Yes she just completed a functional restoration program. Active release seems to help the most. She was getting massage therapy but the following day her lymphs would kill her. Active release has had better results with no problems with the lymphs. I mentioned to her about the yoga and that seemed to excite her. She is looking into courses now. The ice heat alteration would that be 20 mins ice 20 mins heat or broken up by day. One day ice one day heat?

The program was a big help because it helped with the depression related to injuries which in most injuries is never treated. It has been a real eye opener.

One specialist mentioned about an exhibital (spelling) pain block but she is not into that. She like you mentioned wants to exhaust conservative treatments with as little meds. as possible before she looks into the extreme.

    Thanks again for reply

that pain block is a JOKE!!!! do no even think of letting here do that!!!!!i am so serious, the complications are worse than the initial pain and it just about never works. i had a patient who had that done, worse decision she ever made where the words she used to describe it,
