    No replacment for displacment

    Lets hear you car stats,
rather hear about hotrod n muscle cars coz i rekon all this technology is spoiling the essence of what cars are there for.

Fastest ive driven was 138mph in my
    2001, 4cyl 2000cc
    Bhp 130
    ford focus.

    Fastest 0-60 is about 6.4
    2003 Civic type R
    4cyl 2000cc
    200bhp
that was the fastest car ive driven but it was a demo car not mine so i got no times

Notice ive mentioned new cars there thing is the old cars in the UK were wank and you would be lucky to get a big block to break 120mph.

had a old ford capri, 2000cc with twin 45s
that was fast but did about 12miles to the gallon.

Any tales or pics of cars that you have owned that are affordable and ass kickingly powerfull in the USA??

I've got a C3 Corvette with a big-block 483 stroker. Not the most high-tech car on the road, but sure will pin you back in the seat

Cool i think that is the nicer shape of corvettes. proper retro looking
in the uk if u wanted retro from the late 70 that is comparable to teh shape of the corvette i think would be left with either a vauxhall cavalier or a vauxhall chevette

Dont even go on about engines, there is nothing made in the UK to compare

    I've got a 71 Mustang with a 429 in it.

I need to rebuild the engine, and I'm thinking about going with a stroker kit. to take it to 532 or 557ci

I bought the engine already assembled from a guy who upgraded to a 572. The bore and stroke calculated out to 483.4 cu.in. but I don't know how he arived at that. Mine is only 505h.p. so is not as radical as yours, but still makes for a fun ride.

this car took me to a little over 186mph indicated (my highest top speed to date)

I've been 160+ indicated on my bikes

run consistent low 11-high 10 1/4 miles in my 4-door sleeper street racer @30+psi and AWD

all my vehicles have had turbo(s), AWD, and 450+hp. (excluding the bikes, natrurally)

I dont see the point in a car that my bike has more Hp then.

my honda is AWD auto and is great for utility.. I love our honda Element AWD... it only has ~160hp or so (I think) but it is a tool, just like any other.. I have toys for going fast, handling, track days, etc.. this is our grocery getter, snoboard tripper and things of that ilk.

04 geared CBR 1000. 170 to the crank. 156ish to the wheel. Fastest, cheapest way to get dirty speed/power. Havent had a car hang yet. So why bother with em.

Id strap myself to a rocket if someone would donate one.

Man how heavy is that car to run that...*ahem* slow (no offense)? We got cars out here with 400ish to the wheels wei***ng in at a hefty 3100-3300 running mid tens all motor, and faster on the bottle. It's not that rare either, we got 01-02 stock internal f-bodies running bottom tens @ 2800-3000lbs. Just curious because you got the HP for a 9.50 car, in a chassis that could be down around 2500lbs.

    As far as my rides:
96 Z- lots of mods...new combo 383 w/ sb 2.2heads 18*- no runs, but shooting for bottom tens

97 30th anniversary Z- Convertible, automatic, stock internal, 150shot...11.50's all day.

01-GSXR 600 for the street- yosh cams/exhaust, 1 tooth smaller counter shaft, hot computer...only been 130 on it recently.

No i think you have your times off just a little bit. That are also a lot of factories that go in to a good run. But i will tell you right now 400hp in a 3k car will not run in the 10's.

This is my baby now. 4.0 litter stroked to 4.7 littlers. 4.56 gears in the front and rear, slipyoke drive shaft, 5.5 inches of lift, a few more mods also.

My old car was an 86' Z26 T-top. 350 stroked to 383, detroit lockers, roll cage for strength, and a few other things.

Yeah, I'm a gear head, born and raised to turn wrenches.

I've done 140 in my saab 9-5 with a 2.3 liter engine, but yeah man displacement does matter. Mom and dad own a car dealership so I have driven about everything. C-6 vette is fast as balls, had it to 160, but the thing that is impressive is the ease of tire spin and the ability of it to throw you in the back of your seat.

Motorcycles are cheap motorsports so everyone has something that will beat a car on a budget. My Aprilia does 0-60 way faster than a mclaren f-1, but who gives a flying f.

Thanks Gsxxr. It's looks a lot better now. Bigger tires, different bumpers, and a few other things.

i love getting rubber in my Jeep. People freak out when they see me spinning 37 inch tires.

No it's called power to weight ratio. But them again with you get into real high dollar sport cars this does not all was hold true. Once again there are many factors that play a roll.

Also in my experience, with enough boost you can build a 2 liter engine to put out 600 hp, just don't expect it to last 10 k miles.

You can get much more then that even. But at 600 hp why cant i get 10k on it. It's not like positive pressure all the time. Also when the engine is build right and you have the proper fuels and intercooling systems the only wear should be in the bearings, rings and head gasket. That will all be normal when you not in boot.
