my father is a carpenter, i work for him during summers. the main source of frustration is when an owner or contractor repetitively asks for changes or doesnt know what he/she is talking about but thinks he/she does.

what was the situation that pissed you off?

    It's because of Inches,

There are only two kinds of people in this world that deal in Inches,

    That's Carpenters, and Whores.

I work with my dad who is a self-contractor and carpenter. The reason he gets pissed is because his dumbass boss who has never done any carpentry work is always trying to tell my dad how to do the job. My dad is 58 years old if he doesn't know how to do the job by now well than maybe he took up the wrong goddamn career.

I don't work with carpenters but they are on the jobs i'm at somtimes.
and its commerical work so they don't deal with home owners changing sh!t all the time. And the stuff they make a big deal of does not even pertain to their job. I don't really want to go into details with what happen.
But lets just say I don't like MOST carpenters.
There is a select few that are okay...But most are pricks.

I own a roofing company and have hired carpenders to work. It comes with the person in question though. A lot of carpenders and contractors feel they "deserve" work, and know how to do everything because that is what their dad taught them, or they have been doing it for 23 years, so they must know it all.

For the most part, the ones I've delt with do a lot of things wrong. They are too proud to chase work and then they end up working for a kid like me who does not know what he's doing.

    It's okay with me though.
