well its different than the cardio megaly in general. cardi megaly is often a symptom of disease, but cardiac hypertrophy occurs naturally as a positive response to aerobic training.

"Androgens have anabolic effects on cardiac myocytes and has been shown to enhance left ventricular enlargement and function. However, the physiological and patho-physiological roles of androgen in cardiac growth and cardiac stress-induced remodeling remains unclear."

That study was done by Japanese researchers in 2005.
why was cardi*****ly censored? weird i had to write it as two words.

they don't grow in the same fashion... your heart and toungue are smooth muscle... bis, tris, and all other muscles that we work out to get bigger are striated muscle... smooth muscle does not grow as you would think... only striated muscle grows due to steroids and working out...

No, that it INCORRECT.The heart is made NOT made of smooth muscle,it is made of CARDIAC muscle, which is different from either smooth or skeletal muscle, and scientists have found that cardiamyocytes (heart muscle cells) indeed have androgen receptors. You're right about the smooth muscle , but cardiac muscle IS striated, in fact it is striated cross-directionally, which together with the numerous mitochondria in each cardiomyocyte gives cadiac muscle virtually limitless endurance, as it can provide for its entire metabolism aerobically. When the heart does fall behind, it is quickly damaged as only a small percentage of its metabolism can be provided for through anaerobic means.

click the link to the study in my earlier post and read it. It took me a few minutes to accept as well.

Cardiac muscle exhibits cross striations formed by alternation segments of thick and thin protein filaments which are anchored by segments called Z-lines. It is primarily composed of myosin and actin proteins, just like skeletal muscle. In fact when you see the three types side by side, the smooth muscle looks totally weird, while cardiac and skeletal muscle look similar, except for the previously noted differences.

yes i stand corrected.... their are three types of muscle striated, smooth, and cardiac... but still cardiac and smooth muscle do not grow like striated muscles due to exercise and steroids....

The tongue is also skeletal muscle, so if you work out your tongue a lot, maybe it would get bigger.. haha.. Smooth muscle in is bowl, arteries, glands, around your airways... places like that... and it is very slow contracting..
