used to......easy to maneuver around in and code in. everything's set up, you just tell it what to do. took a few classes back in the day. got a book called VB for dummies which helps a lot

VB is used for RAD (rapid appication development). sometimes you can make a program without even writing a single line of code. also, basic is one of the worst programming languages to learn on. it teaches horrible programming practices and entices the novice programming to create "spagetti" code and never understand data types.

"It is practically impossible to teach good programming style to students that have had prior exposure to BASIC: as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration."
    -- Dijkstra

for those of you who don't know who Edgar Dijkstra is...he is to computer science as Einstein is to physics.

basic bashing being done, it is good for creating small simple programs, interfaces to databases, some web programming, etc...again its main focus is >fast< development time at the cost of efficiency and speed.

i have no doubt you are correct. i have had previously: COBOL, Javascript and HTML..they all seem much harder than VB
