    Pinched Nerve In Neck

Hey bros, been away for a while, but I am back now and thinking about cycle 3. In the meantime, I am wondering. I have discovered that I am prone to pinching nerves in the C5, C6, C7 area of my neck. In the last 3 or so years I have pinched C6/7 twice (affects my right arm) and C5 once (affects my left arm).

I have been through countless hours of physio and some ART / chiropractic and I recover quite well considering the temporary loss of muscle innervation and strength I experience.

I have adjusted my technique to stay "safe" from injury and there are some movements I just dont do. It would seem that I have "hypermobility syndrome" and thus it is the cause of all my issues.

The question I am asking is, beyond safe lifting, awareness of my body, etc. Is there a product available (legal or illegal) that might help protect me from this type of injury? Would deca help? GH?

Even today: I trained chest and shoulders on Tuesday. Took Wednesday off and besides feeling some tightness in the neck / left trap I was good to go. Today I did arms and right now I am in significant pain in my neck and left trap / shoulder. I think it is the C5 pinch that has been aggrivated.

Any thoughts? I am open to almost anything at this point.

    Thanks!

I have had back issues for years, Lower back and also have hypermobility. It's almost an oxymoron because you would think if it hurts BAD you cant move.

How old are you? I'm in my 40s and I'm finding other joints like my neck are also starting to have strange symptoms of hypermobility. Sometimes my neck feels like the disk just sllip forward. Nothing hurts but it's a strange feeling. maybe I need to start working my neck muscles more?
Now for my GF I have some good neck exercises for her but I think I will stick to shrugs and ??? LOL

OK you jinxed me. I have the same problem now but I have NO idea how I did it. I felt it cramp/go out several weeks ago. I iced it and though it was better after 3 days. A week later from my rt shoulder down to my fingers went number, thumb, index and middle. After more ice and an adjustment it's mostly in my arm and thumb but it's not getting better now after another 2 weeks.

Im going in for MRI next week. How is your and what do you do to make it better?

Not sure i had a pinched nerve but i pulled something in my trap area once and it hurt like a biotch ! Put me out for a week or so. Pain was so uncomfortable i even went to the doc (which i normally never do).

    Good luck.

Thanks DSM. I sent a PM to BigJames hoping he has some advise. I have been dealing with this for over a month and ready for it to go away.

It has slowed me down a little but not stopped me on workouts or play but having a numb arm sucks and I'm noticing some loss of strength in it.
