    dry eyes

I have very dry eye lids. They are red and swollen and peeling. I get this from the cold wind here in the mid-west and once it starts it doens't go away. My eye doctor said to was with warm water and baby shampoo using a cotton ball and use fake tear drops. It is almost like roacha (SP) but only on my eye lids. Anyone else ever get this and if so ant reccomendations.

I've never really heard of that. Maybe you could try a thin layer of petroleum jelly or some corn-huskers lotion before going outdoors. I imagine even a pair of form fitting sunglasses or goggles would work. Depends on how goofy you want to look. Do you work outdoors?

I get this same condition. It is even worse after any time spent oxy-acetylene welding (even though I wear dark glasses).
My doctor prescribed .05% clobetasol propionate ointment (It's the generic form of Lobate/Temovate ointment).
It usually clears up the eyelids within 3-5 days.

found out I was having some type of allergic reaction. The baby shampoo was doing nothing. The doc gave me some steroid cream and they cleared right up.

Good deal. The clobetasol ointment I mentioned is a corticosteroid and it helps a lot.
