    Waxy Maize Not W/ Protein?

I was told for PWO, if using waxy maize. To not take it directly with protein. For example, down your waxy maize immediately PWO, then 20 minutes later, down a protein shake.

Is there something to this? Or is the guy flat out wrong?

For optimal and rapid recovery without any other obstructions.

I happen to not follow that procedure and include pro peptide and whey protein along with taurine, BCAA & essentials in hopes of a piggy-back affect for the nutrition intake.

Recovery is great. I notice a big difference during the drive home if I forget to bring my drink with me to the gym.

t r u e p r o t e i n . com has the best price I have found. It is his #1 seller and he puts it on sale often to keep his orders going. They are in the S.D., Cali. area. Make sure you go to their forum and copy a discount code for your order (save $$$)... Check out their custom mix page on the website , too. Pretty cool.

all whey protein is going to do is slow down absorption.....whey is fast, but waxy is super duper fast....

straight from justin haris, you have about 20 grams of "stuff" you can mix with wmz without slowing absorption....you get 20 grams total to play with, so creatine, beta alanine, arginine, glutatmine, bcaa's, all these combined, you dont want to go over 20 grams by mass combined...

so i guess the most optimal thing in the world you can do is 60-150 grams waxy maize, 5 grams creatine, 5 grams beta alanine, 10 grams bcaa's....wait 10-15 minutes, take your whey protein

now, people also need to stop being obsessed with the post workout drink....words stragiht from justin harris

    Waxy Maize Availability

    I've found it sold many places as Vitargo, but brand name = higher prices. I found 5.95 lbs house brand for 25 bucks at b u l k n u t r i t i o n . c o m. They have several companion websites too. The other source quoted is a little cheaper for waxy maize, but I have found Now Whey Protein Isolate 5 lbs for 30 bucks at b e t t e r b o d z . c o m. Good luck shopping.

Last week I had my WMS right after my workout and then my protein right after about 25 mins of cardio. I made a thread and got some responses that this wasn't a good idea. What do you guys do for your shake?

bump for when you take your waximaize and when you take your protein

you are really splitting hairs. you will not notice the difference between together and separate in your recovery. wms will replisish glycogen, but that is all. protein is still crucial in this window.

WM is absorbed faster therefore will restore muscle glycogen storage faster. protein has a lighter molecule wieght and can slow down the absorbtion of the WM, but so can creatine and ammino acids so u dont wanna add to many into ur WM. in conclusion..put some creatine and BCAA's into ur WM but wait 20 mintues after ur carb skake to take ur protein skake
