Are you taking any oral AAS? Personally I think hypertoxicity is overhyped. I don't even take milk thistle until after my cycle as I feel it takes away from my gains. You should be alright, but I'm not a doctor.

strange you should say that as there are actually studies to show that milk thistle can hinder gains.

Personally i use Liv 52's. And many bodybuilders swear by them. Plus they increase appetite too.

Another good liver detoxifier is N-Acetyl-Cystine.

I posted this a while back....

"Neither drug had any influence on whole body protein breakdown, as
measured by rate of phenylalanine appearance, on serum
creatine kinase, or on rating of perceived muscle soreness
compared with PLA. These results suggest that over-thecounter
doses of both ibuprofen and acetaminophen suppress
the protein synthesis response in skeletal muscle after eccentric
    resistance exercise

Ibuprofen and acetaminophen are purported to relieve
muscle soreness and pain through separate mechanisms.
Ibuprofen is known to block cyclooxgenase (EC
1.14.99.1), which then reduces metabolites produced by
this enzyme, such as prostaglandins, that are at least
partially responsible for inflammation and algesia (14,
35, 36). However, prostaglandins have also been shown
to regulate protein metabolism, and NSAIDs similar to
ibuprofen have been shown to blunt protein metabolism
in animal skeletal muscle (24, 30). Therefore,
skeletal muscle protein metabolism may be influenced
in individuals who consume ibuprofen after unaccustomed
exercise. The mechanism of analgesic action of
acetaminophen, also known as paracetamol, is less
clear; however, it is believed to have its analgesic
action within the central nervous system (8, 11, 15, 32,
36). Thus acetaminophen would not be expected to
interfere with muscle protein metabolism after exercise.

    ......However, long-term use of
these drugs may inhibit the normal hypertrophic response
to resistance training. Future studies on the
impact of chronic consumption of over-the-counter
doses of these drugs on skeletal muscle are warranted"

I think it is a very bad idea. First you need to listen to your body when your working out, the meds will mask the pain. They will also make you slow and constipated and not to mention are highly physically addicting. Avoid at all cost, if your in enough pain where you need to take it then you are in to much pain to be working out.

thats about retarded. i would definatly rather gain 15lbs on a cycle instead of 20lbs if it means my liver would be safe. do you also say, screw the ani-e's since they hinder gains? i use armidex or letro every cycle because i would much rather gain a little less weight if that extra weight is all water. some people on this board need to learn to take better care of there bodies or they will regret it when there 30 and having heart problems or needing a liver transplant

and if your not a junkie now it's only a matter of time then. You or no one else is immune to the highly addictive properties of those type of pain meds. You will get a tolerance and a physical dependence and the only way to avoid that is to stop taking them.

Im not dependant never have nor will i ever be. I fractured my toe on my left foot the other day so when I have pain from my foot, like after a long day at work i will then take a pill. That doesnt mean im going to become a junkie.

I'm sure your opinion would change if you were a Chronic Pain sufferer. Sometimes my neck and shoulder pain is unbearable, but I made my bed so I have to lay in it. Before I had my pain meds I couldn't workout or type on a computer, so if that means I am classified as a Junkie so be it.
    Peace,
    CR

Have you ever used a T.E.N.S. unit on your neck and shoulder? I got one from my rehab doctor and it works wonders on pain.

Before mouthing off hit me with some proof that waiting until the end of a cycle to take milk thistle causes more damage to the liver. Cuz I'll drop a bomb on you with proof that it affects gains. I don't know what an ani-e is but I do know what AIs and serms are. Yes I do hold off taking them until I see signs of gyno. Why rid my body of estrogen when I need it to make muscle? You seem to be awfully worried about others so I can imagine you've had extensive bloodwork done for yourself then? How are your liver values? Have any bloodwork done? How are your triglycerides, glucose, HDL/LDL cholesterol? Get back to me.
