    steriods causing depression?

I have done a few cycles and have not had a problem I had a friend who did 2 cycles, then tried to kill himself, he was done with the cycle two months prior. I also know someone else who has extreme depression issues, do you think gear causes depression or is it just a weird coincidence that this happened? I'm just curious.

did he have the issues while on cycle? or during PCT? i know during PCT i can have some depression issues. we would need to know his stats and what type of cycles he was on, plus some ppl are just more prone to depression (with or without cycles or what not) it could be that he just has problems before hand. (not to bust on your friend) it could be that he was not shooting his test correctly. resulting in fluctuating levels which will lead to your hormones going haywire. it could be he had some bunk gear. there are many possibilities.

I think people who have problems will sometimes use gear to mask those problems and like anything else (drugs/alcohol, overeating, etc) the problems are still there and usually get worse. Coming off and having your hormones "all over the place" will certainly not help with the issues. As far as steroids causing the depression and/or suicide attempts I don't buy it for a second. It's the excuse or at most the tipping point(the feather that broke the camels back). Bottom line, if you have issues, personal, depression or other disorder do not use gear to escape from that, thats not the prupose of steroids.

    Steroids don't cause depression.

PCT creates a hormonal imbalance, which can effect people who are already suffering from depression.

I have herd that deca can do a number on the physcological if you run it by itself, since it just destroys that natrual test in the body. Obviously stupid to run it alone, but i hear it can cause some issues.

Keep in mind that docs in diffrent countries ( as well as some in the USA ) , are giving HRT (testosterone) as treatment for depression ...

Also there are a lot of docs now doing blood work to check hormone levels , when male patients are coming in with depression ( instead of just slamming them on an antidepressants)....

More and more doctors are ordering blood work see make sure it is not a hormonal problem that might need other treatment along with antidepresants. Remember that antiderpressants take time to work too

There are two reasons why people who use steroids suffer from depression. the first reason is due to hormonal imbalances.

The second is that when people get off of their cycle they don't have the same strength and can not maintain the same look as they had on steroids.

I personally believe that people should not try to gain a huge amount of muscle from steroids because lets face it once they stop they wont keep that muscle. Therefore, go for smaller gains that are realistic to maintain.
