Help on paper discussing steroid use!!!

As most of you know I am still in college and I need some help on writing a paper about steroids being a social problem in our society. The only thing is obviously I am arguing for steroids not against. I need some help with articles on things such as how steroids are not dangerous when used properly (medical), and how there have been little to no deaths ever medically documented as being caused by steroids. So anything you can help me with (Merc) it will be appreciated.

i agree with dsm. all it ever got me was drug tested and all my teachers thought i was a juice head. Everybody always talked about me behind my back about being on steroids. and everytime i would just say do research before you call me out. and whenever girls made remarks and asked the teacher dumb questions like. are steroids bad? i would ask a dumb one mocking her asking if anerexia is bad? so pretty much i didnt mind because i new i was big and i like being wisperd about.

The campus is 400 people small, I haven't even cycled yet and I get called steroids all the time. Also I am the campus asshole, so I don't care what people think about me. They can go to hell. Now anyone willing to help got anything for me?

All I do is read medical studies ( journals) .. I have tons of diffrent studies ...

Also keep in mind there has NEVER been a death that was caused by steroids..

As far as the social effects of steroids go, you have to realize that this is quite a different topic than whether steroids are really harmful. Social effects can also stem from abuse, and if the prevelance of abuse is high, and the effects of abuse is high, it can be quite a large social problem even if one can responsibly use the drug with safety.

While there may be no deaths directly related to steroids reported (at least lets just assume) there is at least somewhat of a social problem of teen use and irresponsible use. Most of the problems where steroids have had at least an indirect negative effect most likely stem from irresponsible use (ie, the kid on 60 minutes who ran tren heavy for a long time, and then stopped suddenly with no pct and then goes into a great depression). Essentially, just because something may be used safely does not mean that it will be done that way in practice. The higher the actual practice percentage shows abuse, and the greater the effects of the abuse, the greater the social problem.

If you want to be pro steroid, you must address these real issues. Perhaps the studies of teen use, etc actually show the problem is not as bad as believed. Perhaps the studies will show that the percentage of users who use responsibly greatly outweigh those who abuse. Perhaps the studies showing the effects of abuse will show there is relatively little negative side effects from abusive use. On the other hand, perhaps not.

As far as pro policy in favor of steroids, there is definetly the liberty interest of individuals. Additionally, you may be able to uncover other positives such as studies indicating people who responsibly use steroids lead happier lives, etc. You could also address the social policy in connection with the enforcement of anti-steroid laws, ie the drug war, and the social effects of both having them, and not having them.

Remember, that a policy discussion will rest on the pragmatic outcomes. The balance of the burdens and benefits of each alternative must be discussed.

My intuition leads me to believe that the main pro steroid view must be the drug war and the liberty interest. In order to rebute the other side of the evidence that you have uncovered (and i am talking about the true other side, not the other sides claims) you must address what can be done to address those concerns. What steps can be taken in order to prevent the negatives from allowing steroid use. One of the biggest things, in my opinion, is education. There is a general lack of information due to the illegality of the substances, which results in many more cases of abuse, etc.

I know I am in the middle of something, but I have to go....if you feel i need to go further in my discussion, ill address it later if you want.

This is an interesting article, and if you are going to make the point that there has never been a death caused by steroids, somebody will be sure to bring up Chris Benoit so you might want to use something from that
