    Question Tanning WTF!? HELP!

My skin type is between 2/3, barely 3 I'd say. The only supplement I take is a daily centrum vitamin. I do not have dry skin, and use a daily moisturizer too. I put aloe w/ vitamin E on after tanning.

Whenever I tan, it doesn't matter if it's the lay down or standing type, I ALWAYS get an intense stinging sensation in my thighs/hams/ sometimes other areas.

The pattern is always the same. I usually use the lay down type bed because it's less irritating. My first time I go in 10 minutes, no problems and a bit darker. I'll wait a day between each session and add a minute. The second time, 11 mins, same thing and third time too. No burning. Then...

I get to my 4th or 5th session and I get that intense stinging. It starts about 3 minutes in and lasts about 2o minutes afterward and stops. Then it returns later that night for about 30 minutes and gone, nothing the next day, no burn, no rash, skin gets darker... WTF is going on here? Please help this SUCKS!

some lotions contain a chemical that brings the pigment closer to the skin surface to help you tan better , this chemical will cause tingling sensation. I had to switch brands because of it.

I wasn't using any lotions. And the tanning beds are definetley clean. It's weird, no burn but intense tingle that subsides then returns right before bed. Still not sure what the deal is. I started spacing it out to every 2 days, better but not completely. Oh well...

Sometimes changing areas and beds aren't completely clean...sometimes leaving the residue of the "tingling" sensation lotions..which for the most part is just cinnamon extract which brings the blood to the surface of the skin. Also you could just be having a reaction to the UV rays, some people get the same tingling sensation on their lips or face before they get sunblisters. The melanin is being release more rapidly in the UV rays, and everybody has different reactions.
