DALLAS (AP) - Dallas police officers will be tested for illegal anabolic steroids beginning in July.

"It maintains the integrity of what we do and promotes community confidence," Acting Assistant Chief Floyd Simpson told The Dallas Morning News for its Tuesday online editions. "Nobody knows when they are going to be called for a test."

Simpson said other major cities, including Phoenix, Baltimore, Houston and Austin, have started testing for steroids as well.

The department has been doing random drug testing for about 15 years. The last person to get fired after testing positive for marijuana was about five years ago, Simpson said.

Satan pops up from time to time, and now he's dressed as steroids. So people take some ceremonial action to purge it from their midst, which makes 'em feel better.

Happens periodically here in the US. Like when US-born Japanese were rounded up during WW2, had their property seized. And during the Communist and gay scare of the 1950's. Now it's Muslims and steroids.
