    All finasteride users...

So I'm optimistic about propecia helping my hair loss, but I'm not optimistic about the sides.

I have a little bit of gyno tissue from a cycle way back and don't want the fina to make it worse, which I'm sure it will. So, I'm here to ask what, if any, anti-estrogen would be the best in combo with fina for this problem. I know anti-Es come with heavy sides, including hair loss, so I also wonder if this would defeat the purpose of taking fina.

I hoped adex .25mg eod would do it, for about a month, follwed by a week of aromasin, then off for a few weeks, repeat. Not sure though at all.

I really hope there are some folks out there who have experience with this and can enlighten me...

    Thanks for your responses

i am some what gyno prone. i have been on finasteride for over 2 years and have no problems off cycle with gyno. On cycle i always run adex from .25mg-.5mg ed or eod depending on doses and compounds used.

if you research finasteride and see the percentage of people that have gotten gyno it in the single digits %wise. i have also had no problems sexually. drive or function

I've been on it two days and I'm already paranoid bc I am so gyno prone. I'd almost grow tits just as a placebo effect probably - THAT prone to gyno.

I've heard of dudes using anti-es but it seems counterproductive bc anti-es are what caused my hair loss in the first place.....

lesser of two evils i guess. Not sure what to do

uh, excuse me? Ya. They cause hair loss in cancer patients too, and it's specifically AGA.

    Why, you ask?

Hair follicles have estrogen receptors too, which is important for growth. By lowering your estrogen you make the follicles hypersensitive to androgens. Anti Es, as we all know, raise test too, which converts to DHT.

Higher DHT + higher sensitivity to androgens = accelerated mpb in unlucky users.

    Look it up.

When on fina i didn't have and sides.

I decided not to waste my money on it anymore. When its that time for my hair to go then let it be gone. I have better things to spend my money/time on.

I was just discussing this in another thread. It will help keep hair but not regrown it. If thats what you want and are willing to spend the money then i say go for it. Just remember this is something that you are going to have to take every day for pretty much life or until you give up . It gets old.

If i were you i would take before pictures then after 6 months take after pics at the same angles and see how your making out. Good luck.

kinda hopin for a little regrowth bc my loss is diffuse thinning, so theres really not much ground that needs to be recovered.

But yeah, def dont want to lose any more, so i guess its what i gotta do.
    Thanks for the luck.

    Np.

Also be aware that when you first start there is a little "shed period" which is normal so keep going at it even if you notice a little loss in the beginning.

Keep in mind everyone reacts different....but I have found in there are way more people that have gyno/sore nip issues using propecia than their own stuidies claim.

you need to get bloodwork beforehand so you have all your baselines available for comparison later. If your doc doesnt suggest it, get a new doc.
Propecia is the only real chance you have at not going bald, so don't waste any time. It's usually paired with other treatments like minoxidil and nizoral
