    Slow Release Protein Powders?

I am looking for a protein powder that has a slow release of protein, that I can use throughout the day. I've heard that whey is digested quickly in about 20 minutes, but I am looking for something that would digest more slowly, ideally, over 2-3 hours. I don't need it to take longer than 2-3 hours, because I will be eating every 2-3 hours. Does anyone know of any protein powders that release over 2-3 hours? Also, what is the best protein powder to take before bed, that would help overnight for 8 hours of sleep?

Yes they are called Casein protein powerders. but you could instead use whole foods that are slow digesting proteins like Cottage Cheese and take some glutamine as well and IMO that would be better and most likely cheaper just my .02 cents

Casein protein is what you would want in powder form, but it is horribly thick and hard to get down IMO (almost like drinking pudding). I much prefer to get what I need from whole food as well.

fiber (broc and other green leaf veggies) and fats (natty pb, fish oil, olive oil, nuts) consumed with your protein source will help slow down absorption. Avoid whey protein if delayed absorption is what you are after, even fiber and fats have a hard time slowing down it's absorption rate.

What would be a better choice for before bed. A casein powder or chicken and maybe some olive oil? Cottage cheese is way too expensive for me.

your daily diet plan should reflect what you eat before bed. and i would always go with a whole food source at that time.

I drink ON's Casein every night before bed. It was kinda rough at first, but I don't mind it now. Just be sure to use plenty of water and I suggest a blended or shaker.
