They very much have a factor, it's a fact that steroids raise liver enzymes, there are also many many clinical studies done that prove conclusively that steroids have a detrimental effect on liver function, though this should not be overhyped.
Fact aas can be a causative factor of liver problems, but 99.99% of these are totally reversible on cessation of the offending steroid.
