Im sure it is easy to notice that in MMA there are far more scholars in the sport than not.
Many of the pro fighters both male and female are really really well schooled in not just MMA.
I wonder who is the most accedemically qualified MMA fighter in the world???
Pro or not (Obviously Pro will be easier to prove)......

funny you should mention that. i have a good buddy who fights at an amateur level. cage fights every month. and he will finish med. school this year. haha. he said he got a talk from one of his clinical instructors about how he won't look reputable as a physician if he comes in looking like cookie dough every month.

I was in academia both as a student and as a teacher/researcher. Sometimes I would get so frustrated with it that I wanted to beat someones ass. That is not the academic way, so I went a different route. The thing is i still want to beat someone's ass.......

A head, two feet, two hands, knee's, Jujitsu, Boxing, Muy Thai, Wrestling, Trunks, gloves, tape, mouth piece, vasoline, tatoos, killer instinct, toughness, no fear of being hot and sweaty grappling with another man, border line personality disorder, worth ethic
Electives,
Talent (can be switched with work ethic if one shows extreme talent), a few missing teeth, saved head, appearance by the TAPOUT douches, TUF show embaressment (Calib Starns 101), no money, lots of money (BJ Penn scholarship) The ability to string 4 words together without using a curse word in and interview to be able to show up Dana White, Good Gym with pediagree to train in.
