In short, it’s barely okay, with decent FX. It engages you throughout only because of the anticipatory hopefulness that it’ll fulfill its potential, which simply never happens. Every good way this film could have gone was almost conspicuously avoided, instead the beleaguered title character lumbers through the film searching for answers that though interesting, don't save this film.
No one wanted this movie to be great, or at least very good more than I, a la “Wanted” and “Hancock”, two films which did manage the latter. Nevertheless, anyone who sees this based on the trailer, and thereby under the auspices of a new TNT Classic, “Movie For Guys Who Like Movies” will be invariably disenchanted. Of course every feature has its moments, this one had too many obstacles to overcome namely a weak script, a suspect plot, subpar acting (excluding Mark), and only hints of what was alluded to by the trailer which is cropped with the very best FX it provided. Although other worldliness in itself is largely intriguing, a la "Constantine", which this reminds me a whole lot of in its monumenal failure to deliver, your hard earned cash would be much better spent on “Eagle Eye” or “Body of Lies”.
So as much it pains me to say this, "JUST PASS!"
