Yes you can. I actually purposely eat high-fat foods to keep my weight up, within reason of course. When a lot of people see big guys, they think that they can eat a ton of food, but, in many cases, this is simply not true. Their stomachs and appetites are just as big as the next person's. When you have a lot of muscle, you need to eat a more food in order to grow, and steroids only make you have to eat more in order to grow.
If you're big and on steroids, that could mean eating 6,000k calories per day for a bulk. Do you think I'm going to be able to get that from eating super-clean foods? Hell no! To make up my calories, I usually just eat a lot of foods that are high in protein and fat like hamburgers, sausage, bacon, whole milk. You may not need to eat a ton of food now, but later on and once you get a lot bigger, not only can you eat the tastier foods as a method of gaining weight, you may HAVE to.
Cutting is a whole different story. Always eat clean while cutting. And yes, cheat days are ok while cutting. No more than one a week, and keep that day reasonable.
I would say it's essential to have a cheat day (or at least a 'cheat meal') when your on a cutting (fat loss) cycle,- whether on or off steroids.
1. To boost moral/resolve. 2. To boost the metabolism.
When I'm bulking, I don't find the same need to 'cheat', and I'm sure most would agree. However, if your on a 'super-strict' 'super-clean' bulking diet, then I think you'll find yourself benefiting from a 'cheat' now & then...
Cutting = Cheat meal, 1 x every 2 weeks...You could erase an entire week's worth of hard work with a really poor day
Bulking = A slightly different approach where a "cheat" meal would be something like a really nice steak...Lots of protein / fat / cals but helps tremendously with overall. Don't go thinking you can eat ice cream or something and not suffer.
There are lots of posts that discuss the merits of a cheat meal depending on your goals...Just search and find them.
i would have a cheat meal not day because it is soooooo easy to just let go and want everything not to mention from expierience i spent alot of time getting nowhere because on my cheat day i would negate everything i did the week before and then spend the whole week losing the water and weight i put back on, just keep it to a meal to confuse body and take care of cravings so you dont quit diet but i wouldnt use a whole day unless you have one hell of a will power i ate everything i could lol
