Personal Trainers and Weight Loss Surgery

I'm living down here in Colombia and I've lost over 120 lbs with a gastric balloon bariatric surgical procedure. Have you guys heard of this procedure? It's an endoscopic procedure (through the esophagus) and requires no cutting.

Would you be interested in sending clients down here to Colombia for a commission? You can find out much more about the surgery on the website in my profile or by just doing a Google search.

I know that you guys are big on the diet and exercise part of fitness but there is a need for surgery for some. The gastric balloon is not for the extremely obese, more for people that need to lose 50-100 lbs and need temporary, reversible, help to start. The goal is to learn to eat proper portions while the balloon is in and then continue when the balloon come out.

Well, I just want to hear your feedback (as professional personal trainers) and see if there's any demand for this service. Right now the gastric balloon costs $3500 for everything minus airfare. Can we spread the word in the US that this is a viable, inexpensive and effective form of bariatric surgery without complications? Let's discuss.

    Thanks! -Rob

I mean come on? Think about what you are saying. You want us to give you serious replies? You are talking to complete strangers on a forum board and asking them to send you "clients" so they can go under surgery ...

    I can see it now...

"Hey Wanda there's this dude on a forum board that posted a little bit ago and was talking about some surgery done in another country! You mind if I send you over there to get it done???"

"Yea sure! wow i was waiting for you to ask me something like that!"

Actually, there are tons of obese people on this website.

.... I'm pretty sure the board has it's own weight loss forum.

Cant say my clients would ever think it was a good idea to go to ****ing Columbia to have surgery of any kind. Surgery here in the states works just fine.

Next we are going to get a guy/gal from Thailand posting up about sending clients there to get sex change operations.

Actually, medical tourism is a growing market. Of course surgery in the states is preferred if you have the coverage. But when you're talking about a gastric bypass which easily exceeds $30,000 and even with coverage can run $15,000 with non-covered expenses, especially in these hard economic times you begin to see the logic behind medical tourism. Countries like Colombia (note that it's spelled with an "o") offer state-of-the-art medical care for a fraction of the cost of the same care in the states. It's simply less expensive.

The procedure I'm promoting is safer than laparoscopic surgery because it requires no incisions, and it's proven effective in widespread use in Europe (where it is available for $600-$11,500) and I can get it done by a certified doctor here for $3500.

Now of course this is a fairly lame way to promote this surgery. But it is free. And it is but one of the ways I'm currently promoting it. I have had good results from the gastric balloon. It is something I believe in and will gladly take your ridicule if it means that just a few more people are aware of it.

As far as Colombia is concerned. I wouldn't expect you to be up to date on world affairs so I won't even try to explain it to you.

I still believe that of the thousands of professional personal trainers out there a few of you must have the open-mindedness and curiosity for your clients to look into an interesting new opportunities to help improve their health. Not to mention the extra income for yourself.

This is not a scam of any kind. I want no money from you and I take no money from the client. The doctor is in a large medical center and he takes the funds in cash, bank transfer or credit cards. I get my commission after the client is satisfied and you will get your commission promptly because my business depends on your continued support and goodwill in the forums.

I'm as real as it gets guys. I believe you when you say that there probably are no obese people on these forums. But you professional trainers are the ones that the obese people respect and admire. If you were to take the time to check out my , learn about the gastric balloon and then recommend a client, you would be doing them a great service plus you will get paid if they have the procedure.

Hope that covers most of your concerns thus far.
    Thanks for all the feedback
    -Bobby

After reading an article on you site: http://www.healthmad.com/Weight-Loss...Balloon.494781

^^I've concluded that there's NO WAY IN HELL that i'd suggest any of these procedures to a client.

The author of that article recommended the gastric balloon and had lost 33 lbs in 4 months. The authors biggest complaint was increased farting. Where exactly did you find evidence to come to your conclusion of "NO WAY IN HELL"?

What kind of comission are we talking about? If the surgery only costs $3500, I can't immagine a comission that would be enough to interest an American. Even in these tough economic times a couple hundred bucks doesn't go very far in the states. A travel agent booking a trip to Colombia probably makes a better comission than you are offering.

Not that I would ever send a friend of mine to a doctor in a foreign coutry about whom I knew nothing, just pointing out more reasons to the OP why this will never get him even 1 client.

Also if you were serious you would post information about the Doctor and hospital where the purposed surgeries will be preformed, so potential clinets could research what they're getting into. I know a guy willing to say he's a doctor and do some surgery cheap....

Whats wrong with you doing some research and posting more specific ?'s for us here?

  17. #17
If I posted the doctor's identity I would effectively be taking myself out of the deal. I will put together a credentials package to show his certifications and education and post it up on my website soon.

Commission stands at $500 per completed client. If you wanted you could do small, informal seminars to groups of obese people and send a few at a time. Easy money and you're actually helping people save money and get an effective procedure that is widely used in Europe. If you don't believe me then just Google "gastric balloon".

I have to admit that the negativity I've experienced on this site while trying to share something very positive has taken me by surprise. If just one of you took the time to research the gastric balloon, recommend someone and see the results for yourself I believe we could prove it to everyone.

Perpetual nausea, impaired digestion... abhorrent flatulence... These don't sound in any way 'pleasant'.
