    Keto/Palumbo Diet Problems

    stats 5'11 252lbs 18-20%

    Well I started my cut and cycle over a week and was pleased to see I dropped 5 lbs already. I'm running a 15 weeker of Test E 500mgs/week to help preserve muscle and strength. Heres the problem I weighed myself again and I gained a lb, i was 253. My diet is spot on, I'm always hungry and my diet is very clean, I do 30 mins of cardio 5 times a week and train 4 times a week.

    342 grams of Protien
    27 grams of Carbs
    145 grams of Fat
    2793 Cals

    Any idea why im not losing weight rapidly like everyone else?
    Could it be water retention from the test?
    Can I still lose fat while holding water or will it slow it down?
    help!

    Trust me, the 5 lbs you lost the first week was mostly water from the carb depletion and the 1lb you gained back was more than likely water as well. You really need to get body comps every 2 weeks or so to accurately monitor whats going on.

    What troubled me was it was 1lb above my old bodyweight, so it was around 6lbs.

    The test will make you hold onto more water than a natural lifter on this diet. The diet takes 2 weeks to fully take effect. Most of the weight lost in those 2 weeks is water, which you are partially retaining because of the test.
    Look at what type of cardio you are doing. Since this diet is best with low intensity cardio, a half hour may not cut it. Up your cardio to 45min to1 hour 6 days a week. Either post workout or first thing AM.
    Also, if you are more concerned with weightloss, recalculate your diet and caloric needs based off of your lean bodyweight. Not your total bodyweight.

    Just so you know, its not uncommon for me to put on 5-6 pounds the day following my one cheat meal a week. Don't worry about the water weight, you can still burn the fat by holding water. Try dropping your test down to 300mg/week if the water retention continues to be an issue.

    You lost water weight from reducing carbs then regained the water back plus an extra pound once the test kicked in. Everyone loses weight at different rates while in ketosis. You may need to slowly increase cardio output as times goes on.
