    Exclamation "Steroids fueled spectacular rise and fall"

    yay, more negative news pointing fingers at steroids, on the front page of espn.com.

    steroids play a role in this guys life, but it clearly says in the article hes a junkie and addicted to shooting up pain killers and drinking alcohol.

    Strange there is no mention of the staph infection that almost killed him. Mandarich was a bust by NFL standards, but he actually had a serviceable career, finishing it by blocking for Peyton Manning in Indy for, I believe, 4 yrs. So having a 7-10 yr career in the NFL is exceptional considering the average career last 3. And you don't get your pension until after 4. So did he live up to the hype, NO, but was he a terrible offensive lineman? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

    I can't think of any other NFL player who sat out for 3 years and then made a return to the starting lineup.It won't get him any where near the Hall of Fame but it is an impressive feat.
    Also, in the interview I saw him do he was honest about his use of AAS, but chooses not to comment or speculate on any other players use. He said something to the effect of "steroids work, that's why I used them"
    I found it refreshing to hear an athlete name the performance enhancers he took.

    The NFL will eventually have the same steroid comming out party as MLB did....
