    Bulking then Cutting

I'm going to "Bulk than Cut "

this is a common phrase you hear from people in body building

now, so i understand this correctly what they mean is

    I.E for a 150lb person looking to gain 15lb up to 165lb

they are going to switch their diet to a 3500 calorie diet
    with a split 40% 40% 20% in most cases
of course they will gain more fat as they intake these 3500 cals

once this person reaches their goal at 165lb they switch back to a calorie
intake that will sustain their weight, for I.E 2000-2300 calorie diet so they stay at 165lb, but however they lose the fat by training with more cardio.

---so when they reach their goal they trim the fat, not the pounds they bulked up 3500 calories to gain..

    does this sound correct?

so you're saying for a clean bulk just simply add 300 to 500 cals vs more

so this person would go from 2300 to 2800-3000 calories?

some people get this misconception that 500 is too low or too high. if you are eating correct amounts (this is where the rpoblem really is and people dont), then you should gain 1lb per week

Sorry for high jacking, just got a question:

How much do you guys go over your TDEE while on gear(I'm talking lean mass cycle, not full out bulk)?

Thought it's kinda on topic, and I've always been curious to see how much you guys eat when using gear.

I think it all depends on where your calories are coming from obviously. Thou I'd rather gain at a slower rate, and keep fat gain as low as possible.

nope, a calorie is a calorie is a calorie, you can eat 30 snickers bars and it can be the same amount of calories as a great nutrition program and you will lose/gain the same amoutn of weight.. its what you make out of that weight

So you're saying that the guy who eats 30 snicker bars is going to have the same results as the guy who eats clean?! Yeah I know a calories is a calorie, but the "quality" of the calorie itself matters.

i was quoting off of this statement you made "Thou I'd rather gain at a slower rate"..

yes same results in regards to weight gain/weight loss without a doubt

so yes it it is of the quality of the calorie, which i stated before lol...

Oh ok, we had a misunderstanding then lol.

I dunno how to explain it, now I'm not a "softgainer", but I think of myself to be more sensitive to calories than others(sorry if that makes no sense)

Every bulk should be a clean bulk. Why would you want to add a bunch of bf and put yourself through the misery of a hard cut to get your body fat respectable again.
