Is shooting in the quad dangerous?

I have read some stories of people hitting a vein or what not and feeling a pain in their quads afterwards.

My main concern is, are there that many veins in the way in your qauds that could be potentially dangerous or is it relatively safe to shoot in the quads?

I have read sites on where abouts to shoot but some are confusing so i figured it would be directly in the center of the quad...maybe a little off to the left side (away from groin). Am i wrong in saying this?

I have always shot in the glutes and delts but i want to add quads in there...just a bit nervous i guess. I am using 25g 1 inch pin by the way.

I've hit nothing but my quads for the last 4 weeks and i havn't had a problem. Completely painless with a 25g pin.....

I flex my quad..... find the muscle directly in the middle (upper quad) then look to hit the side of it (the outer part away from groin) - once i find my spot i relax the muscle and it goes in like a hot knife through butter. No nerves..... no veins..... no problems.

I'm actually about to do one now..... you better not have jinxed me LOL!

I like outer middle best. I can see what I'm doing better than any other spot.

Well, I have to admit, that was EASY. That is by far the best injection I ever done on myself. Definitely will be using quads from here on out. Thanks guys.

Mine was easy as ever as usual

As for the 25g and length question..... i use 25g pins because it's not too hard for me to push the oil through and it's smaller than a 23g - the 23g pins don't really hurt either but i'll always go w/ the smaller needle as long as i can push the oil through. I use 1 1/2" pins - but i don't go all the way down..... probably 1 1/4" down. I always like to leave a little bit sticking out incase the pin breaks so i can get it out LOL

    I have no issues as well shooting my quads.... the worst that has happened was a small bruise, make sure you aspirate and you'll be fine... go to s p o t i n j e c t i o n s . c o m for some help with injecting.

Just make sure you aspirate (pull the plunger back and check for blood) if you see some - move to another spot. Upper outer is most common. Most times painless, but when I ran a relatively hich concentration short ester (TPP) it stung like a biotch....

Ahh dude.. In the beginning, I always did delt, glute and outer quad. My Dr was like "You top of your quad, yeah no worries". So I did...

    #### ME.. seriously.. my quad swelled up so bad. and the pain.. I could hardly walk... (right leg) I couldn't even drive my car as I had a very hard brake pedal.. so I couldn't push...

BUT off to the Dr.. some anti-infams, by that night I was sweet,... little bit of a limp,.. but i went out to a bar in the end.. so I was MUCH BETTER!

Only prob I have ever had.. and never want again..!

Its as dangerous as any other part of the body, do the procedure correctly and you shouldn't have any problems.

The first shots infants get are in the vastus lateralis (upper outer), since it is the largest developed muscle on a neonate. Once they begin to walk, upper outer glute (gets larger with ambulation), or deltoid (Increases in mass with increase in use and dexterity of upper extremities) .

Figure, if it works for a 10 lb baby, it'll be a good spot for us, we with giant quads. Maybe the upper outer glute is better for adults in general population (big asses, stick legs), but just make damn sure it is upper and outer. A siatic shot is bad news. If I ever need a IM, for myself, I would chose the VL. Simple, straight down, can be done sitting, easy to aspirate, etc. It is a no brainer.

Pecs are great...Make me feel strong like bull! I stick with the opposite hand, then carefully switch the pin to the hand of the side I'm shooting. Aspirate, and plunge. Rub my boobie a little, and I'm good to go.

Quads are easy, pain free, like everyone else here has said. Take your time and find the right spot.
