casein protein.
Try Syntha6
what are the macros/proteins in syntha? it hink its filled with sat fat and is garbage. could be wrong tho post it up
i think protien is good before bed ,you grow the most when u sleep
i remember reading whey goes through your body quick. a la good after work out shake. so what goes slow? eggs/cottage cheese? or chicken/bacon*/peanuts?
*mmmm bacon.
a casein shake would be ideal. (can add EFAs)
Cottage cheese is quite popular but make sure it has low/no fat or carbs.
20g whey, 20g soy, 1/2 cup egg whites, Raw MCC from AGX, 30g oat bran, a splash of fat free milk. I've noticed a significant difference by adding this shake right before I go to bed. It is in addition to my last meal of the day, however, not in place of it.
I'm sure people who don't respond well to carbs would prefer to replace the bran with some EFA's.
i always find a couple of raw eggs with unpasturised goats milk gives me all the healthy slow-release nutrients i'm after. i've gotta say i'm pro-good fats so i'm all about the egg yolks baby! feel free to bag about the goats milk but its the only milk i can get unpasturised as unpasturised cow milk is illegal here in aus. anyway i reckon milk is truly one of the most helpful growing foods espec before bed but pasturisation ****s it
london broil....
haha don't sit there munching on raw eggs just break into a glass and down the hatch. google raw eggs and read a few articles ignoring any of the soft c*cks who harp about salmonella. i have swallowed raw eggs since 16 and have never had any problems
this is just ignorant advice, have any of those studies you read mentioned biotin deficiency, how about raw eggs having less bioavailable protein, and you are lucky you haven't gotten salmonella, but just because YOU didn't get it doesn't mean you shouldn't advice others to partake in ridiculous practices that have no scientific backing when a much better practice(namely drinking pasteurized egg whites) is available
Yeah I don't get it...I go through a carton of egg whites in less than two days, I couldn't imagine cracking open 15 eggs every day...that would suck.
I use to eat my eggs raw, until I found out that all the protein in the eggs are not utilized until after they are cooked.
TeamSkip Blend
^^^^^^^ lol..
egg whites are 40% more bioavailable cooked sure. but i'm not interested in purely egg whites, i don't want JUST protein while i'm sleeping i want everything that is required for growth so protein, fat, vitamins and minerals included. so that means the white and the yolk for me. despite the fact that cooking interferes more with the fats and vitamins in the yolk, i also like raw eggs for the convenience. salmonella instance in eggs is 0.003% and that study was not solely organic and free range eggs, it was mostly caged hens and it is well documented that unhealthy chickens are more prone to contaminated eggs(ie caged conditions=breeding ground for disease), so sticking to free range or certified organic would greatly drop this percentage. hell at 0.003% i would have better odds at getting in a car crash tommorrow. i'm sorry if i offended you by saying your a soft c*ck if you don't advocate raw eggs, it was unfounded and i shouldn't have wrote it. but don't insult my intelligence to think i would do something to jeopordise the life and body i have built for myself, or somebody elses by not researching into the choices i make
Anything that is composed of slow releasing proteins (like casein or meat) with some EFAs thrown in (either as ready oils or from 1-2 oz of nuts/seeds is good too).. I personally have a casein shake with 105 oz of mixed nuts
good points in there^^^ and i did come off a little harsh, i don't advocate just protein before bed, nor egg whites as they are liquid and thus digest very quickly
personally i use fish oil everynight before bed for the pro/fat combination and the slowing of digestion from the fats
all good Phate. i do exactly the same with fish oil. are most of you guys using straight fish oil or cod liver?
straight fish oil is made from the whole bodies of deep sea fish where as cod liver is just that-extracted from deep sea fish livers. it contains much higher amounts of vits A+D than fish oil so i'd rate it superior but people who get a lot of strong sun exposure or already have a high amount of A and D in their diet sometimes opt for fish oil over cod liver as A+D can be toxic in excessive amounts. From what i read its pretty hard to achieve toxic levels, i eat a heap of foods with plenty of animal fats(butter, milk, meats), am out in the sun everyday with my job and take cod liver oil twice a day and have had no probs. The only reason i ask is whether when people on this forum say they're taking fish oil i was wondering which oil they were refering to. go the cod liver mate!
liquid egg whites & 2 tablespoons flax seed oil. Plus vit E gelcap.
Vit E is fat soluble so i guess that's good a time to take it.
that's alot of fat bro
and fat soluble means that it's stored in your body's adipose tissue, just like water soluble means that you pee it out as it's carried in your blood stream
watch out how much you are taking as fat soluble things CAN be overdosed on this they are stored for prolonged periods of time
^
No doubt!
I eat a can of tuna fish before bed.
nuts!
NUTS!
did i say nuts already?
