Thumbs up Kathy Rowland wins her first show!!!

My wife (Kathy Rowland) entered her first bodybuilding contest 2 weekends ago. She won her division (open middle weight) and plans on doing the nationals next year. For 46 years of age her genetics are very good. Kathy will be doing her second show in 10 days (SC. STATE). She was a bit nervous so next time around I expect to see some smiling.

Here's a few pics of the show. I'll post more later one.

Oh yaue! My wife and I are training partners. She follows the Slingshot Training System just like I do.

I would also like to point out that George Grieves won his first show at age 18. He won both the middle weight and teenage division! He is also using my Slingshot Training System and is going to do the nationals next year as well. I am going to help him try and become a pro-bodybuilder. He has the symmetry and I think he stands a good chance. Looks like I have my work cut out for me...lol...In case you are wondering who George is, here's his video- http://forums.steroid.com/showthread.php?t=369624 I'll post some of his contest pictures in this thread when I get the opportunity.

I AM VERY PROUD OF BOTH OF THEM!

Thats awesome, congratulations. I gotta say I'm not surprised though. My girl is using sts and the results are obvious. Its funny how her friends talk about 'weight watcher' or other diet fads. We just shake our heads. You guys are awesome.

amcon, Kathy and I trained legs on saturday. We have our second show next week end. For a change up I had her use the hammer strength squats machine with me. I have a bad back with some pretty severe nerve damage so I am limited in what I can do when it comes to certain exercises, especially for legs.

Between sets I made adjustments on the hammer strength squat machine so that we would both be dropping just below parallel. Kathy was doing the whole stack (395 lbs) for reps and this was after pre-exhausting her legs with 4 sets of leg extensions. I can't even get out of the hole with that kind of weight without feeling pain in my lower back. So to answer your question, yes she can squat more than me.

To bring things into perspective, a client of mine (a 250lb linebacker for Georgia Southern) had a squatting contest on this very machine back in the winter during our off-season. His legs are so strong that he is capable of using the whole stack on both of our leg curl machines at golds gym (seated and lying version) for reps. This linebacker was able to crank out 16 reps with the whole stack (395 lbs) on the squats machine. My wife did the same weight for 26 reps!!!!!!!! Her legs strength is ridiculous. She would excel at power-lifting but I am afraid her knees will get injured and keep her from training.
