The numbers used to say that 90% of guns in mexico are for the US. When in actuality 90% of the guns that the mexican government turns over to the US authorities are from the US. The rest of the illegal guns siezed are kept by the Mexican government and are simple not reported to the US government so it give a skewed number that even government officials have recognized in the past. Giving that RPG's and automatic AK-47s are outlawed in the US...

AK-47s are not banned in the US. Only AK-47s which are fully automatic.

I thought AK 47's were adjustable from semi automatic to full auto? One click down for full, two clicks for semi.

No... AR-15=M-16, the only difference being that an AR-15 is semi-automatic ONLY, while an M-16 is select fire. An AK-47 can be as well, but the ones most often owned by civilians are semi-automatic only, although not always called an "AK-47," there are re-makes/replicas, the most popular being the WASR-10. There are also several imitations of the AR-15/M-16 for civilian ownership, made by various companies. The original ones beind made by either Colt or Bushmaster.

my ak-47 is just like my ar-15, semi auto. there is no full auto. you can change it to full auto yourself very easily but i dont see a point. even with a 110 round watermelon drum your going to waste more then half the ammo. i perfer semi auto were i can actually aim

You need a constitution in your country first.I shot full auto M-16's in the service. The full auto's can be owned by civilians with a class 3 license. And actually Eugene Stoner thought up the blow back, rotating bolt, AR-15's seen today.Originally , it was made in 308(7.62 NATO), but the government went for the 223(5.56) NATO round. Now, colt got the pattern rights to this, but was bought buy armalite. They marketed it very successfully.Although colt is synonymous for making the M-16 originally, it was made by armatite. And there is a AR-10 I own. ,It is a tack driver.(this is made in a full auto also in 308).I have some beta C mags for them.I don't have NRA tattooed on my back for nothing.

A lot oof American Civilians are under the impression that they can not own but or use FULLY AUTO WEAPONRY... they are of course.. MISTAKEN !! If you can buy a handgun (rule of thumb) then you can qualify for a CLASS 3 PERMIT which allows you to POSSESS AND CARRY a fully automatic weapon as a civilian.. TRUST ME.. I got one... THEY COME IN HANDY let me tell you... totally freak everyone out on the range when you draw up your Bushmaster and out rapidly fires 30rnds in a quick fashion hahaha they look over at you like HUH!?! WHERE'D YOU GET THAT!! YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT !!! THAT'S ILLEGAL!!
