The cigarette trick is done with a waxy gum and cat gut or micro tiny string

the string is black and super thin, it is wrapped around the guys neck from one hand to the cigarette. the waxy gum is stuck to the cigarette and then his hand motions make it look like it is floating.

they do that with dollar bills, pencils, anything like that. that way he could actually take something from someone in the crowd and with slight of hand stick the gum and string to it and make it appear to float. it is usually stuck under a finger nail to hide

the second trick is just slight of hand with the cards, as there are two stuck together to change the word at the end. notice how he turns the cards every time he flips one
