A question about porn..

This has always confused me a lot about porn.

When I look around at my friends, family or just people I know in general, I really don't know a single person who has a stash of porn or even anyone who buys the shit.

I KNOW a lot of guys watch it, but I don't know any guys who actually buy it.

Saying for instance you're gonna do a shoot. A female you might pay $500 ($1000+ if shes in demand) for one scene. Then you pay the guy w/e he's worth lol, lets just say $200 to keep it simple.

Thats $700 someone is paying to make ONE scene right?

In order to make your money back, if you sell a video it may have maybe 10 scenes (Im just doing rough estimates here). So that becomes $7000 to film an entire video.

In order to make that money back, if you sell each video for $20, you need to sell **350** JUST TO BREAK EVEN. If you have a membership site, that charges $30 a month or w/e, you need 233 people to join just to make your money back. (on only 10 scenes, some of these pay for sites prob have hundreds and hundreds of them)

Its not just the fact that everyone has access to free porn now and days, but the fact that I really don't see or know a single person who spends money on it.
I just am not understanding where the producers actually make their money to pay the women with, and how they make their money back. It seems like you're are 1000 times more likely to wind up in debt then make even 10 cents profit.

Or is there really thousands and thousands of men out there buying this crap that I just don't see? Because I'm not really seeing it at all.

And no I'm not gonna start shooting porn lol. Well the thought crossed my mind honestly but now I'm just more confused how people make money in the industry to begin.

When I worked for a cable company, we had TONS of people subscribe to the porn channels. They are like $20 each channel, each month. I'd say 80% of people who called into our office/call centre had 2-3 adult channels. I'm sure these companies make lots of money off of selling their movies to those channels like Playboy and Hustler.

I think a lot of people still purchase porn. I know a lot of girls that buy it. Most people admit to watchin porn but very few would ever admit they paid for it. That's like admitting u paid for sex.

I went into a video superstore with my girl about 3 years ago to get a few toys and a movie or two. We went there quite often in the past but to our surprise they quit renting vids. I asked the guy why and he said it was too much of a headache and a lot of their clients didn't want them to have their credit card info just for renting. He said that they do just as much business, only people now buy the vids instead of renting. And that's what we ended up doing. Weird, i thought they would go out of business by just selling them.

anyways IMO wouldnt worry about share prices, since it doesnt talk about the increase in volume of shares, or profits of the organistion, shares an mearly an indicator over demand and supply of the organisations part ownerships
