Hunters don't have a bad rap, only among people who are against it. People still hunt for sport and he is one of them. Impressive that he took down a a deer with a spear.

Yes your right vs channel does have a lot of hunting shows, I know this cause I watch it. Secondly my point is people that are wavering or against hunting see throwing a spear as rather cruel. Not saying I do however.

Yes hunters do have a bad rap as I am heavily involved in the outdoors. Hunting comes under fire a lot. Secondly Allen is a avid outdoors man and does not hunt for sport(i.e trophy with out using the meat).

Thirdly its an elk, much larger then a deer any deer you are thinking of i.e whitetail(most likely) mule deer, sitka or blacktail.

Why I dont like "pen hunting". It has been linked to cwd and for alot of people who once again are on the fringe of supporting hunting see it as unethical.

I'm an avid outdoorsman myself. So I'm not against hunting and I hear from the tree huggers and anti hunting crowd all the time. I was just impressed with Allen's ability. As a former football player myself, I can appreciate with the guy does on the field and in the wild. It takes a tremendous amount of power to hunt with a spear, whether cruel or not. I can careless what the anti-hunting crowd has to say. Pen hunting is what it is...as is hunting. Every sport has a 'bad-rap' in certain circles, including mainstream sports.

We are going to have to agree to disagree. I by no means gave you attitude or I would have said something about you calling him your hero. I just don't like pen hunting for numerous reasons. Like I said I have no problem with using a spear, however it does give anti's more ammo and lets be honest its not "primitive" its a steel(maybe some carbon). I will say yes it was impressive would I be more impressed had he done without pen hunting? yes but we both know that would be illegal.
