    Cost effective needle filtration??

What is the best way to filter possible glass out of oil drawn from an ampule, and at a reasonable price?

order a sterile vial and a couple .22um watson filters, then take all your amps and draw them into a big needle(i would order a 60mL syringe as well), then filter into the sterile vial

That what I was thinking, I saw a video on one of those sites where they were using a filtering needle. So I looked up the price for them and they were like 40$ each!!! That's crazy.

Get a Whatman brand filter, stay away from titans they take forever to filter.

    Everything I've seen...

All the ones I see, you fill the syringe, then push the oil through the filter, but that would require an open vial. Then I would have to crimp my own tops. Are there filters that lock onto the syringe and then can have a needle attached to it so I can inject right into a steril rubber topped vial? If so, I can't seem to find any.

you attach the syringe to the filter then the needle to the other end of the filter. poke ur precrimped sealed sterile vial and poke another needle into the top of the vial to release pressure as you fill the vial. imo it's unneccessary to filter amps. i've done hundreds of injections with amps and have never once had an infection.

    agreed^^^

besides, if you are using a 25 gauge and you draw the oil from the top you shouldn't have a problem since the glass pieces are more than likely too big to get into the needle

your call though, but i would put all my oil in a sterile vial all at once for conveinience if nothing else
