Rotator in shoulder or tendentious in shoulder HELP what are symptoms of each

ok, i have wrestled all my life, and over the years i have experienced many shoulder problems, but nothing serious. Whenever i working my shoulders or chest i get a deep sharp/burning pain deep inside my shoulder, after i do a set the pain is pretty intense but after a minutes rest the pain almost completely subsides. but its getting annoying and worse. sometimes the pain will not subside and will last throughout the day. and sometimes i'll go in and not have any shoulder pain. it's even gotten to the point when i go to my local mma club and spar or beat on the heavy bag i have shoulder pains. i through my punches with alot of speed; the pain is similar to the pain when you throughout your arm because you havent properly warmed up your arm. I talk to numerous people some say it could be tendentious or a jacked up rotator cuff. i'm not sure what the symptoms are for each so it someone could help it would be greatly appreciated. ounce again its a deep sharp/burning pain.

I have been doing this for my shoulder but I think there is something more wrong with it. Feels like its making my right shoulder hurt more.

Any popping or cracking coming from the shoulder when you rotate or lift your arm? Any loss of mobility in the arm thats effected?

I don't want to hijack the OP's thread, but what does popping/cracking usually mean?

I've ahd that for some time, but it is not very painful so have not done research on it - just saw it in this thread and figured I'd ask.

    Thanks.

Its all good Bass. Saw you say some good things about it in a couple posts so I figured I would give it a go. Was worth a try. Unfortunately, I think Im to the point where surgery might be my only hope to get back to 100% (or close to it)

jbran, sounds like the next step should be a consult and an MRI to see exactly what is going on in the joint and surrounding tissue. 6 months ago I had the worst pain ever in my right shoulder. I though I'd torn my RC for sure. HR/ MRI revealed only a slight fraying of my labrum. No surgery needed. Lots of rehab though. Good luck!

I have seen a doctor and got an x-ray done and the next step was an MRI but I got laid off from my job and lost my medical insurance so I didnt make it that far unfortunately.

I have basically had to cut out all shoulder exercises from my weight training and have to be very careful with my form on bench in inclines because that can aggrivate it too. It is a major annoyance in my life right now thatI just want taken care of but dont have the funds to do it at this point.

I stopped doing flat bench all together as well as military press. There's lots of alternate exercises you can choose that won't cause you as much discomfort. The key is to allow the injury to properly heal while keeping range of motion, then you can begin to add the weight slowly.

I have been dealing with a similar issue since high school. Got tendinitis pitching my junior year and been dealing with it for a while. my right shoulder pops and cracks with any overhead movement and deep bench presses cause extreme pain. I did tons rehab/mri/corta shots and the only thing that worked well/cheap and practical imo was MSM/Glucosamine/Codroitin pills and these exercises,

try doing these as a warm up next time you do any kind of shoulder/chest movement.

-i usually do them standing but sitting helps to get the movement down at first, do 10-20lbs 10-15 reps 2x each alternating

My shoulder has been experiencing the same for about a year now. I have mostly just been forcing my way through the pain. Im use to pain due to 3 ruptured/herniated disc.

I tried these shoulder exerceses for a while with no sucess but recently I have been MUCH better at doing them before any benching or shoulder work. I do them 2x a week and have noticed a LOT of improvement. My inclinie bench was 1/2 as much or less than my flat or decline bench. They are all about equal now.

DONT do heavy weight. use LIGHT weight, 20-40 lbs max. I use 15 - 20 lb dumbbells also for a lot of shoulder work. Keep it up, it takes a couple weeks of constant work to make a difference but it's working for me.

I had MRI done, they want to do arthroscopic surgery to repair the tear in the rotator cuff, 3+ months recovery. No thanks. I did mine benching with 100 bls dumbbells before I was ready. I got 5 reps out of it but now my max it about 85 knowing

BTW I have all the cracking, snapping, some numbness sometimes and yes it was noticeably weaker than the other arm. It's ALMOST back to normal strength but still hurts if/when I move it wrong.
