    AAS after being a addict

I seen a old thread that was silular but figured I would start a new one. I think its ok to post this. I have a lot of freinds using gear. They all have drinking problems bad diet and shit around in the gym. All idiots who go to the gym and think its a club. One of them is about to start just a basic test cycle but he was addicted to BAD THINGS for a few years and a social user for the last 7 years. He has around 6 months clean. Now he has been working out for years and is in half decent shape. I told him not to use AAS because I dont think his heart will be up to it. I dont know much about BAD THINGS but I think it wears your heart. . I have read AAS can enlarge your heart and cause stroke. His BP and chloresteral are good. So he thinks he is pretty much safe doing it as long as they are good. But Im worried he will have a heart attack because of his past. Like I said I dont think Im going to change his mind. Any one have a silular experience with some one like this or have any thoughts?

"bad things" was used in place of words I am not allowed to say

    poor attitude?
grow up. ur asking a question about ur addict "friend"

if he is not worried about himself, why should u be? if u want advice for urself, which is what i believe u are doing, man-up and say its for u.
otherwise, take a lif-insurance policy out on him, sounds like you may cash in sooner then later....

and remember, u asked for peoples thoughts.....well u have mine now.

Thats all on him bro, if this is really for him then i would tell him to have massive tests done if you think he is set on this. It does cause stress to the heart so really he's gambling with his own life.

everyone makes mistakes, good that he cleaned himself up.
tell him to go get a complete work up done by a doc, focussing on the heart...

and take out a life insurance policy on him.....could be a quick 100k

Ya man, he made a good choice getting off of the "junk", and its not uncommon for people who bounce back from being an addict to want to excel in body fitness. His problem is going to come when he tries to run several compounds after he "gets away with it" running a test cycle.

Its not a good idea either way imo... But i would say that as a betting man, i would put my money on him living through the first, (hell maybe even a few) before he gets any noticeable sides from his past.

    Good luck on helping him,

P.S.- MOOSE YOU SOUND LIKE YOU WISH YOU WERE IN HIS BOAT GETTING READY FOR THE LOTTERY LOL

Tell him to get an health check before starting up, though it might be a big risk for an addict to start something wich is also may be addictive when his only been clean for a few months...

my best friend did a test deca cycle after being clean from things for about six months and he looked and acted great. Like others said getting clean made him want to be a lot healthier and bust his ass in the gym which is what he did. Although he did relapse a few months after on my one year clean date and is not with us anymore(RIP Dustin)

Ive been thinking about this a lot too. Ive been off of "things" for about 1 year and 4 months. Got my shit together even more recently and went from 25%bf to 14%. But im still worried that my heart cant take it. Id love to do a simple test cycle but i just cant get myself to do it. It took me 6month to take an advil w/o thinking i was going to od so i dunno how your friend is so ready to use some type of drug. IMO he shouldn't but you cant control anyone else's decision, even when you know the consequences could seriously effect them and everyone they know.

tell him to take really high doses of many compounds, once he has agreed THEN go grab some life insurance! I think that will help you with your odds in winning the life insurance 'lottery'

    I have an addicting personality,
only thing is that I usually can pull myself away from my vices.

I thought it would be best if I was hooked on AAS rather then heroin.

    Worse then legal addiction.

Obviously I cant do anything but I wish I could. He is a long time friend who I helped get clean. So I think thats why Im not thrilled about him using AAS. It was a long and horrific process. LONG.... He is a grown man, but a friend. A lot of his friends use AAS constantly. So I think it influences him. I think I just wanted to discuss it, maybe I approched it the wrong way in my thread. IDK.

An addict is an addict is an addict! Addicts brains are not wired to do what "normal" people do. Addicts mentality is that if one is good ten is better or if 12 weeks does x then 20 will do much better. Addicts never recover they only get clean/sober and can relapse in a split second. There is a HUGE possibility for cross addiction and yes he could become addicted to steroids and use them to medicate the feeling he previously medicated with "bad things".

PM me if you would like additional info on addiction, I work with addicts everyday and will share all that I can.

Just to put things into perspective, a good number of veteran AAS users are recovering drug addicts who have just traded one addiction for another. Hopefully the healthier, cleaner BB lifestyle they adopt (good sleep, no alcohol or rec drugs, clean diet, exercise) makes AAS use the lesser of two evils.

You won't be able to convince anyone not to juice unless you have done it and have powerful reasons as to why he shouldn't.

    Interesting topic.

For what it's worth, I am friends with a prominent and highly regarded steroid researcher. In his latest study (not yet published) that he forwarded to me, he has found a "statistically significant" correlation between opioid abuse and AAS abuse. He suspects that AAS trigger many of the same receptors that opioids do.

So, if your buddy was a junkie, I'd say AAS use is not the best call he could make.

And what Spicyer said up above is dead on. An addict is an addict... I've known enough of them to know that. They never change, they never grow out of it. They may switch from one substance or activity to another, but, the addict never goes away.

But, it is his choice and he is a grown man. He will do what he will do. All you can do is let him know your concerns as his friend.

crazy to hear that because, ive known 3 friends who did juice, extremely big and became addicted to pills, 2 are now dead the other looks like death...very sad.
