    2000 calorie deficit per day

    hey

    My stats are the following:

    Weight: 260lbs
    Height:6ft
    Age: 25
    Male
Somewhat active lifestyle (Upto 9,000 pedometer steps per day)

According to nutritiondata.com, this means I naturally burn off 3,500calories per day simply by being "somewhat active" (walking from place to place)
In conjunction, I also do around 45min of cardio on a stationary bike, burning off about 500cal

This totals to 4,000 calories per day

So, if I ate ONLY 2000 calories per day that would mean I would burn off 2,000 calories per day.

Does this sound like an accurate ESTIMATION?

Burning off 2,000 calories per day sounds pretty crazy... as its more than half a pound per day...

And you will find that it won't burn off a half a pound a day. Your metabolism changes everything.

You're BMR adjusts based on what you're body becomes accustomed to. If you're consistently eating well below your TDEE, your metabolism will slow significantly. Especially if you're not eating small meals consistently throughout the day. Also, with that kind of a deficit, you'll blow up once you start eating normally again. This is why we encourage a minimal deficit and consistent cardio. Weight that takes a while to come off, stays off and you're able to build muscle in the process.

depends on the amount of fat you have. what bf% are you? I recommend a max of 500 cals, add cardio. I recommend 200 and tons of cardio

I'm obese. I have about 27% body fat. It sucks.

So you mean my diet should have a 500 cal deficit, and then my b
cardio should burn the other calories?
