    Natty PB and Brown Rice

So I'm trying to get started on this whole diet thing. I bought some Natty Pb the other day, smuckers flavored. I don't see how people eat this stuff. I stirred it up for like 5 mintues and it was still runny. Is it suppossed to be like this. When I first bough it had an oil like on top of it. Other than that it was ok. And what about brown rice. I bough some in a bag, but hear that crap was hard to cook. Is the instant brown rice that takes like 5 mins to cook ok. The back of this bag says it takes up to 30 mins.

What the best way to cook the brown rice. My roomate who is helping me with all the cooking since his parents own a restaurant said the one thing he can't cook is rice. Says every time he tries it comes out like a gumball.

Invest in a rice cooker if it's gonna be a staple in your diet. It just comes out far better.

Otherwise, look on the back of the rice bag for water/rice ratio. Put the water in a pot on high heat with a dash of oil and salt. When it comes to a boil, add the specified amount of rice and stir. Cover the pot with a lid and turn the heat down to med-low. Turn off the heat after 15-20 minutes (depending on the type of rice, bag will specify). Let it sit for a few minutes and enjoy. Make enough for the week.

As for the PB - you're only eating a spoonful 1-2 times daily. Any more than that and it'll make you fat. That said, does it really matter if it's runny? It's not like a steak that you'll spend 10+ minutes enjoying.

If it really matters, plenty of organic/natural PB brands are no-stir and tastier than Smuckers.

I usually get those Uncle Bens whole grain rice packets that are already prepared. They're like a buck to a buck fifty each. Not bad. Invest in a rice cooker as well. Works alot better.

X2 plus u can cook a weeks worth in like 20 min...Then all u have to do is reheat it in the micro for like a 1 min...

As for the Pb stir it up really good in the jar then put it in the fridge. When ever u want to eat it put it in the micro for like 15-20 secs to soften it up...
