    Accutane

Had a few questions as Im considering running this.
Whats the average dose and length running accutane?

Also, if taking accutane should I stop taking minocycline pills and stop the retin-a gel?

And, how serious is the liver thing? Like can't drink? Can't cycle?

    Thanks.

Are you thinking of running it with a cycle as a preventative measure? In that case just 10mg a day would suffice. At this dosage 10mg is low enough to be able to use on cycle.

If you are wanting to get rid of some bad acne that you already have you will need more. I have done two Accutane cycles with my doctor. Both cycles were 80mg ED for 20wks. That is pretty normal. I had moderate acne and I'm completely clear. In addition, you should stop taking all other medications including minocycline.

If you are going to run a serious accutane cycle to get rid of some bad ance that you have, i would definately not do a cycle at the same time or immediately before or after. I would also recommend gettign bloodwork done while on accutane to monitor liver enzymes as it is harsh on the liver. However, a little drinking is ok as long as you are ok with your bloodwork

    Good advice^^

I'd consult with your doctor about stacking with minocycline and retin.

I wouldn't do it during a cycle, was just wondering. It would def be just to get rid of acne. But damn, thats a long time.

Google low dose accutane. You can get the same effect with a dosage waaaaay lower than the 40-80mg that doctors often prescribe, with less side effects and much easier on your liver. I wouldn't hesitate to use a low dose on a cycle with no orals. but i'm not a doctor.

This is my rule of thumb... accutane should be run @ 10mg/ed while on cycle to avoid oily skin..

Bump to 20mg/ed if you have serious problems.

I run my acctuane when on cycle like this:

    (weeks 1 - 4) @ 10 - 15mg/ed

I use acctuane @ 10mg/ed throughout my PCT and for 1 week after I discontinue the SERMS.

This has always been a 100% effective solution to my issues w/ belmishes & oily-skin.

Note: if you're taking tren I would recommend 15mg/ed minimum for the whole cycle... that stuff can put the worst acne on some people..

Its probably gonna be an off cycle thing anyways.

    Even so, 20 mgs/day for 5 months?

It depends what your goals are bro.

Do you want to try and completely shutdown your oil-glands? If so, you would have to run accutane @ 60 - 80mg/ed for 4 - 5 months (obviously ramping it up though over the first month or so..)

^^ I know a lot of fellow BB who have taken this route, and swear by it.

If it's just to get rid of acne for now (keeping in mind that when you go on your next cycle and you aren't on the accutane you will break out again)... then I would suggest running it @ 20mg/ed for 4-5 months. (or until all the acne is gone.)

This stuff is strong, has sides, and is definitely crazy effective.

If you're acne prone (which clearly you must be..) then you should follow the acctuane dosing regiment I previously suggested in your next cycle. it will make a world of difference bro!

    Hope that helps..

If you take 80 mg a day you will be so dry it is unreal. I mean you will wake up with skin flaking off your face....literallty

    60mg is PLENTY.

But there is nothing like it that works as well, 4-6 months straight and you won't have to worry about it for years.

Sometimes it takes 1.5-2 months to work, but give it time it will.

    some solid advice in here

I recently ordered some Acnegel (10% Benzoyl peroxide) for some mild-moderate bacne, if it doesn't do shit I might run a low dose of accutane

    thank fuk for science

Accutane is very effective and made my skin look nice. But it dried me out way too much. I had to drink a ton of water every day and I had to use a lot of lotion and chap-stick. I have been off of it for several years now, but I must use chap-stick several times everyday. I think my lips stopped producing their natural lubricant or something.

Accutane is one hell of a drug. I think I have experienced every side effect possible from it including severe dandruff, dry skin, dry lips, wounds taking longer to heal, joint aches, depression, chron's disease type symptoms, bloody noses, dry mouth, dry eyes, and probably some other i dont remember. (some people hardly have sides at all but Im just prone I guess) In addition, my acne actually got worse for the first month. With all that said, the side effects and the acne all started going away after the first couple of months. At about 15-16 weeks I was completely acne free and side effect free (except I still needed chapstick). About 20% of users will see acne return after about a year. At this point another cycle of accutane can be done again. Only about 5% of users report a recurrance of acne after a second cycle. Hope that helps

It was on the bad end of moderate I'd say. I did a second cycle because my acne actually came back a year after my first cycle. I have done a second one and I'm 100% acne free now.
