Minimum HCG

I am currently taking 250u of HCG 3x wk. While my libido is above normal, I can tell that it took some off the top. What is the minimum dose of HCG for someone wanting to keep the family jewels in good condition?

I have seen 250u 2x wk and 250u e4d. Looking for real info not just opinion.

I really hope you mean 250. If you are doing 2500, real damage can be done. You should switch Drs asap.

its in IU.. which is a measure of drug potency not weight so there is no correlation

Let's clarify because I put mg in place of units in my original post.

I use 250 units 3 x week.

are you saying you use 2500 units (half a 5000 unit bottle) per week?

Thats a different story. I agree, I would not advise that. Doing as much as 500ius ed and sometimes more for two weeks before pct is fairly common. Thats 3500ius a week.

the bottles i get are 10000iu powder that i have to mix with the bac solution.. i usually put in a little over 4ml of solution .. and do a 1ml shot per week.. so ultimately i am using 2500iu/ml per week which based on the info that came with the bottles its slightly on the high end

Wow... How many weeks have you done this? You can do serious damage to yourself at that dose. When others read this they will chime in agreeing so you don't have to believe me.

ok found the dosing info that comes with the box...

Selected cases of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in males:
(1) 500 to 1,000 USP Units three times a week for three weeks, followed by the same dose twice a week for three weeks.
(2) 4,000 USP Units three times weekly for six to nine months, following which the dosage may be reduced to 2,000 USP Units three times weekly for an additional three months.

so i'm in between the recommended dose ranges.. but i'm also not doing 3 shots a week either... weird

Docs also give cypionate shots every 10 days.... I don't have the studies handy but others should chime in with links to studies that show those doses can cause harm...

Although each person is different, there are studies that show taking high doses for long period of times will completely damage the leydig cells. That protocol of 2500iu/wk would concern me if it's done for longer periods of time. It might be a good short-term thing if you had to cut the "T" for a month, but there's really no need to do that much IMO.

After all, the objective is to stimulate the testicles, keep them as normal as possible including the size. If you can complete this objective with smaller amounts wouldn't it make sense?

Durak, my doc that I visited with a few weeks ago stated that he has some patients at 250iu x 2/wk to do exactly what you're talking about. For continuous use, I would probably stay between the 250iu- 500iu x 2x or 3x week.

Just wondering out loud if the mild reduction in libido was due to the hcg contributing to aromatization in the testes thus slightly higher E2.....I read you take aromasin. Does slightly increasing the dose help in that area?

I don't know how long you have been on trt. Often at first, dopamine rises which can heighten libido but then settles down again. Some on trt end up using very small doses of deprenyl like 2.5 mg eod and/or caber at .5 mg in divided doses a week and feel the benfits. I could be on the wrong track here though. It's all individual.
