Pretty much just do what he says and take it easy. It sucks but just hit it hard when you are ready

CTS is the syndrome that arises from compression of the Median nerve as it traverses the carpal tunnel (which is a broad, thick ligament right in the base of your palm near the wrist crease). It develops for numeorus reasons (habitual use such as people who are always typing, people prone to inflammatory conditions, injury to the forearm, etc...,
Diagnosis is via EMG nerve studies. Initial treatment is to avoid any potential things that caused it, wearing cock-up wrist splints at night to allow the nerve a chance to relax, combined with NSAIDs....al trying to get the inflammation down. The nerve sheath becomes inflamed, and that leads ot swelling, which causes compression, and the numbness and tingling...and this causes more nerve irritation...and the vicious cycle continues.
If conservative treatment doesn't solve it, then you're looking at a 10minute surgery...a slice down you palm that cuts the carpal tunnel ligament in half and physcially takes away the chance for any further compression. Then, it takes a variable amount of time for the nerve to return to normal function, and the pain and tingling to go away.
Oh...and if you get it on one side...you have a much higher chance of developing it on the oppoiste side at some time in the future.
Hope this helps.
thanks guys.... Just waiting for the letter from the doc......
I had both hands done within 2 months time almost 2 years ago. I Healed Increadable!! One week after surgery @ no movement to full use of your hand in a couple of days! The best thing to happen to me & no more numb fingers!!!
I would recomend this surgery to anyone who has CS!!
O-Yeah Stay away from the Slice your palm surgery!! Go to a nero-surgon?? ( cant spell) they will go in thru a small cut on the wrist the size of 1/4", use some micro blade that cut from the inside,, no scar tisue on the palm so healing is much quicker!
?Acupuncture will heal it
I just had the carpal tunnel surgery with the cut down the palm (had no choice thats what the insurance covered). Is there any cycle the will speed up the recovery from the surgery so I can get back in the gym as soon as possible.
B12, B12, B12 or at least a B complex.
Mine started to bother me years ago. I had even considered surgery. I upped my B intake and I have not had problems for years now.![]()
