Ok before u guys rip me apart , here me out. I do take all the steps for safe injections. However, today my friend loaded two syrnges for the two of us.. I injected him first , capped used needle and put on table.. I used the alcohol swab on my deltoid and he put needle in..he went to withdraw and realizes he had stuck me w the same needle I used for him so he pulled out without withdrawing or injecting. I know it was a big bonehead move on his part and I didn't realize cuz I was looking away... Now I know he is clean disease wise but can neone comofrt me about the chances of infection or abcesses. How much should I be worried. I can't even work right now I'm so stressed out. Please someone knowledgeable help me asap before I have anxiety attack!

I'm in the medical field (not a doctor) and an infectious disease doctor told me it's harder to catch a disease like HIV than one thinks. According to him.... you could stab an HIV patient with a needle.... pull out and stab a non ifected guy and theres a good chance he wont get HIV. He also said it doesn't mean one can't get it and no one would obviously do this..... but it all depends on the concentration in however much blood is on the needle.

Anyways..... It was an extremilly stupid thing to do..... you and your buddy should be smacked for it LOL..... but theres a good chance you'll be fine.....
