I can’t remember if there is any larger articles on here about Synthol/SEO, so I will just put this up anyways. This thread will end up on the next page and long forgotten by tomorrow, but for the time being I will put it up because of some of the recent questions being posted about its use.
Synthol some what started in the 1980's when a drug called Esiclene was all the rage (for those who missed the 1980's, Esiclene, was not used to build muscle mass like traditional steroids, but instead was used as a temporary fix to increase weaker body parts before a contest). The drug acted primarily by causing a localized swelling. Bodybuilders found it very useful in bringing up such small muscles as the calves, rear shoulders, and arms. The main drawbacks were that Esiclene was very painful to use and very short-lived.
In the mid 1990's a researcher took the next step and created an oil-based compound that could be injected directly into the muscle.
Chemically speaking, Synthol is composed of 85% medium-chain triglyceride oils [MCT] (a fatty acid), 7.5% lidocaine (painkiller), and benzyl alcohol. The oil is injected straight into the muscle where it becomes trapped between the muscle fibers causing the muscle fascia to stretch beyond its natural capacity. Users report incredible muscle pumps during training, but this could be a result of the extra pressure generated by the trapped oil.
Although some bodybuilders consider Synthol relatively safe to use, there are some health issues to consider. Injecting any amount of fatty-acid material intramuscularly can be dangerous. It's very easy to hit a major nerve if you do not aspirate, and if you do hit one by accident you can easily cause permanent paralysis of muscle fibers in that area. Injection into a major blood vessel can cause embolism, leading to heart attacks, strokes, pulmonary embolism and/or permanent brain damage if Synthol finds its way into cerebral vessels.
To increase size, (we will use the biceps for example), you need to inject in every head of the muscle, while rotating the shots daily with that head. This is the only way to ensure that the added size keeps to your natural look and shape of the muscle. .5 - 1ml in each head of the muscle. If you do both the biceps and triceps at the same time, you can add up to 3" on your arms in 30 days. Now this is very important, you have to massage the area that you just injected severely! You have to make sure that there's no lump forming, and the muscle should always be soft. You should never have a lump. It is also a good idea to inject just before going to the gym, so as soon as you get to the gym, you should do a couple light weight high reps sets for that muscle, to get the blood moving. This will minimize lump formation. You have to keep in mind that as soon as lumps form because you did not massage, scar tissue can form as well. You want to avoid scar tissue at all costs. Also, to minimize scar tissue build up, use smaller needles, like 25g or 26g, inch or 1inch long (depending on the injection site) and inject very slowly. If you find that you cannot keep with the lump build up, but you are due for another shot, wait until (by massaging) the lump goes away (it should not be more than a couple of days) and then resume from where you left off.
With Synthol, unlike it is reported by naysayers of the compound, does not stay in the muscle for 3 to 5 years. It is dissipated within months. However, during this time, it has stretched the fascia of that muscle. The fascia is a great constrictive factor in muscle growth. The more stretched the fascia is the more the muscle will grow and the more it will have that `popping' look. Synthol stays in there long enough for the fascia to stretch. As it dissipates, the `space' left by them is replaced with new muscle tissue growth. That is the reason why when x-rays/MRIs where performed on some of the people that have 25"+ arms, there was no oil found in there. The oil dissipated and it was replaced by real muscle.
Synthol is safe, if certain precautions are taken, same as when injecting anything else. You always have to aspirate. Always! You do not want the oil to go in a vein. Always massage the area after the shot so scar tissue build up doesn't occur. And most importantly, use common sense! If you have 16" arms, don't think that you will have 23" in 5 weeks! Because if you try that, you will end up with deformed looking muscles and you will be the laughing stock of the world. On a side note, people like Greg Valentino have implants, not Synthol in their muscles. It is physiologically impossible to look like these guys do with Synthol. Hopefully that puts that myth to rest.
To sum it up, doing a search of Synthol on the internet is going to bring up tons of pictures and stories of the people who misuse the compound. As with steroids, they positive use of it is not as interesting as the negative to the general public. So, do the research fist, don’t take it for granted and know what you are putting into your body at all times.
Good Luck and BE CAREFUL!
