Does AAS have to be a life-long bro?

It seems a lot of people use AAS for the long-term lifestyle. Has anyone done a few cycles (1 -5 cycles), achieved their goals, then went back to a non-AAS routine AND retained most of their gains?

I too believe the downside risks of AAS are overhyped but not sure I want to be using the gear for years and years to come. Just want to hit my goals and keep them without AAS.

I don't know from experience, but you'll never be as big off as you are on. That said there is a level of muscle that you body can maintain without aas. If your goals fall in that range, you should be okay. If your goals are large, then life long. Don't forget, the more cycles you do, the more likely you are to end up on hrt/trt anyway, so 1-5 cycle may become a lifestyle anyway, especially if you start to young.

Also, flex wheeler claims to be natural and drug tested to endorse some line of supplements.

And jay cutler only uses muscletech products. Wink wink hehehe

You dont have to stay on forever if thats not your thing.
It's possible to keep your gains (a good portion) if you continue to diet and
train properly once your AAS days are over.

you need to do some research in to how steroids suppress your natural test production. There's lots of good threads on this here, but to answer for you right now would take. Long a$$ time

Kenny try doing alot of reading and research. All the tools you need are on this site, take a few days, weeks, or months and know what your getting into. Theres an intire section on the main page for TRT and everything in between. Good luck

No matter how many people say you can, you can't keep gains made on AAS past what you could develop naturally. I've seen plenty of people stop using AAS and they shrink! Usually smaller then they were before using AAS. They most likely can't get their test levels back to what they were pre AAS, training is more difficult and they no longer feel "on". Hang around at the gym long enough and you will see for yourself.

I feel the same way but usually only for 2-4 weeks during PCT but that is to be expected while your nuts get into gear.

I have kept almost everything ive gained both naturally and on AAS. I took a 2-3 year break and never dropped below 4-7 lbs off my highest body weight which i attained while on AAS.

Im sure everyone works differently, but i was expecting to lose 20 or 30 lbs from all the stuff id read about coming off. Needless to say I'm pretty psyched that didnt happen.

Very interesting thread. Like keny1022 I do not want to use steroids for my entire lifetime. I have never used steroids but would like to reach my natural limits faster. I have no desire to be the size of Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler. I know how hard it is to gain muscle the natural way. Doing everything perfect (diet, training, rest, supplements, etc) it would probably takes 5 to years to reach natural limit.

If I follow you guys correctly, it would be possible to reach my natural limits faster with the assistance of a few cycles and be able to stay at that level naturally as long as I continue to work hard at it?

As mentioned before I do not want to be freakishly huge, just real fit and muscular but would like to get there faster.

This is a lifestyle. 5 years is nothing if you want to stay that way. You're much better off to stay and train natural if your goal is your natural limit. It will take you a bit longer, but it will be easier to maintain.

why do people say train natural until you hit your 'natural limit' then use aas to push you past that barrier, when as soon as you come off you will lose it all because its above your genetic capability to maintain.
