    My Absence:

Well, I was riding my busa along a main road, about 1/4 mile from my house. A women in a silver Toyota SUV was pulling out of Dunkin Donuts. I saw her in the entrance waiting to pull out. She pulled out when I was about 10 to 15 feet away from her. Then she see's me and stops in my lane. She couldn't get into the adjacent lane due to traffic.I managed to get around the front of her bumper, I think my right knee may have brushed her bumper.

On my way out of that, my balanced got screwed up or something and when I accelerated out of that situation, I ended up riding a wheelie down the road. This would have been fine but my feet were not on the pegs!!!My bike basically accelerated down the road dragging me behind it.For our experienced riders on this forum, you can't recover the bike from this scenario. You Can't cover the rear brake. If you hit the kill switch, the engine cuts out and the bike would have fallen back wards on me.(What keeps wheelies going is actually the engine momentum putting power to the rear wheel, I have done wheelies at 1 O'clock without flipping the bike).Anyways I lost my grip on the bars and washed it at about 60mph.Wrecked a $12,000.00 bike + mods.Wrecked $1,500.00 in the gear I was wearing.(thank god for alpine stars).Screwed my neck and back up, but no broken vertebrae in my neck or back.

I could not even move for weeks from the muscle spasms from the impact/contusions.They keep me from sleeping and working out. This happened months ago, and basically put me into a mindset of depression. Now, the insurance company is going after me because there is no one else to access blame to.The women took off, so I have no plate number.I have to hire an attorney to represent me at the merit board of appeals.(Insurance company's surcharge you to get their money back, WHORES!!).

Now, this is not by any means my only accident, since riding from age seven, but I got wrecked from this one.I guess the ladies freaking latte was more important than my life.Police wrote me up for driving to endanger, but it's a warning? Since when is saving your own life and adverting another accident a reason for issuing such a thing? The police report doesn't even mention my statement.

So, off to court I go, which I have to pay the attorney's fees of course. This happened 1/4 mile from my house, almost in front of my attorney's office!!!.On a brighter side, my cycle is in the mail now, and I am gathering the rest of my auxiliary compounds to start my cycle.I'm grateful my daughter or significant other,(wife), was not on the back when this happened.

That's it and that's basically where I have been.Sorry for being absent, but I needed time to step back and re-evaluate some things in my life. It's all for the better in the long run. I am keeping the money from the insurance company to put down on a house so I can move out of this state. Find a new job, and put my resume in order.I would get on another Hayabusa and do 200 mph down RT 24 tomorrow and not think twice about it.Keep the really fast runs to major highways where you can see a couple of miles ahead of you. When your time is up, it's up.I guess I have 9 lives like a cat or something.Well, time to get back on top of things.Put myself together, work out, cycle again and work in Q&A.

Thanks for taking the time to read this explanation, as I felt I needed to explain what happened.

I remember one time I was riding a wheelie down the road and some 90 year old guy changed two lanes over into my path ! WTF. I managed to get it down and squeezed between his car and the center divider. Scared the poo out of me.

welcom back brother. glad to hear your getting back to normal. I had a bad one about 15 months back, last march. broken kneecaps, wrists, concusion, etc. Medics cut off all the leathers while i asked them not to in the ambulance, I was trying to unzip it for em but they were ready to cut. Bike was totalled but ins paid. Good luck with the ins thing man, they are pretty much all scumbag companies. wish ya the best bro.

I hate hearing these kinda of things. I just started riding a bike on the road this summer. I'm always paying attention to cars, but that really doesn't do much good when they pull right in front of you. People need to get off their damn phones and drive.

    Wink

Thanks everyone for the support, and it's great to be back.

I know Big had his share of bike wrecks.

All you young riders out there in shorts and t-shirts, spend the money on riding gear.

Expensive riding gear at that. It may go in the trash after the accident, but it WILL save your life.

Words of wisdom from a 45 year old rider....

Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

My gear saved my life on this one. No questions about it.

I will post my upcoming cycle and progress.

Some new faces and avy's floating around.

Welcome all the new members to the best, most informative forum on the INTERNET.

    Thanks.

South of the North East, maybe Midwest.

    Not really sure.

Going back to school in the fall for CNC/CAD/CAM.

Maybe get a job back in the machinists field, as that is what I went to school for in the beginning.

Buy a house and settle down in a quite place working normal hours.

    We'll see.

    Blade is a nice ride.

Yes, there is no fun riding unless it's down a major interstate highway.

To many drivers not paying attention.

I'll ride again, but no time soon.

    And NOT in the northeast.
