    Pain under my knee?

Hey guys I need some help on how to fix this sort of injury I have..

A few months ago I started getting a little discomfotr under my knees, on both side with the same amount of pain. I only felt it on leg days but not while I was lifting but inbetween sets when I would squat down and stretch. As I was down i would feels a little tightness then as I would lift up I would have to push off when my hands becuase thats when I would feel the pain. Once I was up I would not feel it again.

Well 3 weeks ago I started a legworkout with leg extensions for warm ups.. well with only 45 lbs on i started to move myt legs and the pain would feel pretty strong half way up on both sides equaly... I thought to myself that isnt right so I drop it down to 25lbs and its the same... So I go over to the leg press with no weight on and try to go through a motion.. Half way down I get the same feeling.. Put a plate on there and half way through the motion it feels like major tension on the one spot with a lot of pain as if something wanted to snap off... its been weeks now with 3 leg days I have tried to go through a few motions to see if it feels the same (been letting it rest) and today its still the same. not any worse and not any better. I don't feel it walking around or doing cardio which I do every morning. Just mid motion with legs...

This is driving me nuts now because I don't want to keep taking so much time off but at the same time I don't know what it is nor do I know how to help it recover??

Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

    Methylsulfonylmethane = MSM
A white powdery crystelline substance, bitter, easily dissolved in water. Sold on line and to the general public for over 30 years, originally given to retired race horses put out to pasture to help with joint problems. IMHO, more benefit, less cost then chondrotine or some of the other stuff out there. I've been taking it for 10+ years due to "runners knees". It has resolved 95% of the constant dull throbbing pain, and 85% of the intense spike you feel when you put a load on the joint.
    Load phase = 10 grams / day x 2 weeks
Maintenance phase = 5 grams day forever....... (you don't stop taking it)
because of squats and such, i just keep it at a loading phase of 10 grams a day
    NO toxicity
check it out on wikipedia first, then you will see there are thousands of websites selling it. do not take capsules. take powder.
    10lbs of powder = $46.95
Put it direct in your mouth, then wash it down with your favorite liquid.

I'm experiencing similar pain under my right knee. It began when I would do light cardio (slow jog) outside. I particularly felt it when running at a decent. It lingered when I did legs, especially anything where my knee went past my toes (i.e. lunges). After researching online, I quasi self-diagnosed myself with patellar-tendinitis. I bought a mueller wrap thats made for jumpers knee and use that when doing legs. It has helped moderately, but nothing substantial. I actually just began taking Glucosamine today as I feel like my joints have been taking a pounding and aching more than usual. I will let you know the results. But I too am interested in hearing advice, experience with this problem.

i suggest going to a allied health or sports medicine center in your area. the people there usually know what's up. most of the time they can diagnose you and prescribe a solid rehab program the first day.

when you say "under your knee" do you mean under the patella or knee cap?

in that case it could POSSIBLY be an issue with tracking. get yourself to a pt or sports medicine specialist to find out for sure if you can. in the mean time, stay off of those quad ext. for a while. those put a ton of stress on the knee.

The pain is below my knee cap - from this diagram i would say the Patellar Tendon. i'm 24, didnt play sports so I have no injuries and started training legs consistantly about a year ago and this just came up out of nowhere, the only thing that changed was my trainer had me doing some a** to heals squats and a pretty low stance on leg press to work my tear drops.. Irritation during stretching started during this time. (trained this way for about 4 weeks, 4 leg sessions) Then out of nowhere the pain was there the second i started any warm up on any leg exercises...

hope it is temporary? Came so fast..

I recently had to bite the bullet with my knee pains. Doc injected some lube underneath my knee cap. I have two more injections to go, but I'll tell you what.... big improvement!
