I just want know what to look for. Does gear crash when bacteria grow inside, or is it just if it falls out of suspension.

I am no expert by any means, however in my own experience with Test Suspension what occured was the globules of the test started to form and settle to the bottom of the vial, if left alone in that state long enough solids would start to form in the globules, however heating the solution and swirling it around would cause reabsorption. Also in my experience heating the bottle each time prior to use caused this to occur upon cooling whereas the other vial was fine, however since all you had to do was to heat the solution to get it to dissolve again it was no big deal.

You can see crystals floating around or stuck to side of vial like hard candy .
It has a swirl to it
To me it looks like rain cluds forming in my gear
