    undetectable muscle injurys?

a freind of mine who i used to train with developed a problem walking,as his right leg became very painful, unsure wheather it was from training or a muscle disese or something,he simply does not know, nor can his doctors work it out,hes been for scans, xrays and nothing showed up,he can walkabout 20 meters and his front right hand side of his right quad starts to hurt and when he puts any pressure on it it feels like a stabbing pain,so he just limps around on crutches everywhere, the doctors are suggesting its this and that, but with no real proof, just wondering if anyone here has had the same problem or might have any idea of what it is..

    thanks nathan.

p.s its been like this for 5 months now.

we need more details. Describe the pain. How long he has had it? How constant is it? What helps? What makes it worse?

is it along the side of his quad? could be band related.

yes it is dwn the side of his quad, what do you mean by band related?it gets worse the more strain he puts it under,so stopping helps and standing hurts but walking makes it so bad he has to use crutches.

If its a burning pain it could be due to a pinched nerve, I had a couple of herniated discs in my 30s and often walking would cause enough misalignment to pinch the nerve and cause leg pain.

Of course it could be a thousand other things and I am no doc. but since I had this experience myself I thought I would pass it along.
