possibly jsut scar tissue in the shoulder

I injured my shoulder about 3 months ago and I did rehab for it for it massaged its everyday as much as possible and it seemed to get a little better but there was one particular part that would still hurt no matter what I did for it , the would would only happen when i raised my armup to the side and put it in a V with my fist touching my chest. I was going to go to the doctors and have them look at it possibly have an MRI done but my father kept telling me he had the same injury when he was younger and that the pain i might be feeling is just scar tissue that should be broken down by slowly getting back into lifting weights so i tried it i was fully capable of do tri extension a few curls push ups etc and after that my shoulder felt much better its been 3 days the pain is still there but it isnt half as much as it used to be. Does this sound like my my father right or should I go get my shoulder looked at ?

It could be, in fact it sounds like this is the case. However, my mother was a surgical nurse and wouldn't hesitate to diagnose any problem I might have, including numbness and extreme pain in my right arm. I've also had neurologists misdiagnose, with 100% confidence, what was causing my condition. The point is, parents are old and generally uninformed about current medicine, as are MANY Doctors!!! If you have insurance, get it checked out. If the treatment doesn't work, get it checked out by someone else. I was given pain killers, anti inflammatory's, X Rays, MRI's, TMG', PT, massage therapy by 7, count'em 7 MEDICAL DOCTORS before being properly diagnosed, given simple surgery with 100% resolution of a debilitating, year long problem which greatly inhibited not only progress in the gym, but a marked degradation of lifestyle. If Doctors don't know, how much do parents? This is my 2 cents bro, but I strongly suggest you get it checked AND fixed...btw, I did all that WITHOUT insurance, and would do it again in a second....
