Disposing needles/syringes

Any advice out there for proper disposal methods?

I don't know about proper, for that you would need to check your local codes to see the regulations. A hospice center could probably give you the information since they are bound to deal with it all the time.

What I always do is to take the plunger out of the syringe then unscrew the needle stick it into the tip of the plunger then force the plunger all the way down the barrel of the syringe so that the needle penetrates the pluger or folds up inside the syringe body. Then I take these compacted assemblies and put them inside a detergent bottle (they are very thick and you can not see inside them) then when the bottle is full I take it and screw on the top and seal it with duct tape then dispose of in my municpal trash (Separate from what is recycled) if you really want to go the extra step you can take spray in foam insulation like the stuff used for sealing windows and spray that into the bottle to form one solid chunk of shit so if someone picked up the bottle it would not rattle and if they took off the lid nothing would come out or be visable, however I am tight with my garbage collector (He does construction work trash pickups for me and has my cell #) so he would tip me if the Po Po was inspecting my trash.

Of course if you are paranoid of that and want to go the extra mile you can always burn them in the fireplace or charcoal grill ( nothing like plastic and testosterone smoke flavoring on a steak) and then all you have left is a small glob of black crap with burnt up needles in it.

Or get Bonaparte's address and send them to him packaged to look like a powder delivery ;-)

I like the plastic bottle technique. Adding foam may be going a bit far for my liking. I could melt it all into some odd shape, glue it to a canvas and call it art, then ship it to Bonaparte :P

since i pin on the go sometimes, esp when i was on an igf cycle, where it needs to be injected PWO, i'd use these 1use sharps containers, but stick only the unscrewed and capped needles. that way i could fit a dozen or so needles tips in there. then use the permanent cap and throw it away. about the size of a small box of pencils

You can order sharps containers online, or you can take them to your local hospital or doctors office and they'll dispose of them for you. Or you can do what i do, just recap the needle put that and the syringe in a coke can and throw it away

You are in Canada. I am pretty sure you guys have needle exchanges. Order a sharps container and just drop them off, or you could try a firestation or even a hospital will take them.

If you feel weird about bringing needles somewhere then I would just use a protein jug and when you are ready to dispose of it I would just duct tape it so its tight and toss it in a dumpster.
