U.K. steroid laws??

As some of you know i live in Ireland, where steroids are still illegal. I have some mates from Northern Ireland and when i told them that steroids were legal for personal use in the U.K. they looked at me like i was retarded.. I have read on here several times that you are allowed to have steroids for personal use in the UK, i.e. if you have one or two vials that the police do not confiscate it or anything.. just as if it was a pack of smokes.. My mates told me that the police would definitly take it at the airport or anywhere else and you would get fined. Am I wrong about this??

i know there are a few guys here from the UK so can you clarify this for me please.

I know many people who travel to main land Europe to buy their steroids and have no problems passing through customs with sometimes large amounts of steroids for personal use....

I think steroids are classed as a class c drug but can be bought and owned for personal use only.....

It's legal to possess or import steroids as long as they're in the form of a medicinal product for personal use. But possession or importing with intent to supply (which includes giving them to friends) is illegal and could lead to 14 years in prison and an unlimited fine.

ok that is more along the lines of what they were saying.. that you can get away with it with a prescription, and that the police do not look into whether you really have one or not as long as you only have small amounts.. They are classified the same way in the States and elsewhere.. i was under the impression that they were legal like they were legal in Mexico.. where you can have them just like you can have some Solpadine

its changed/changing, you can now be done for possession in the UK. i was told by someone, well and truely in the know, that because rec drug dealers were also carrying large amounts of AAS as well as cocaine etc, the courts are going to take action as they see AAS as a funding source for other serious crime. an amp of test legally holds a street value of around £19 so you would get done for that street value.

i thought they were legal to possess in the republic and illegal to deal in?
