Had a weird experience the other day. I sell IT equipment to large enterprises, and a new customer called me in for some quotations. The name of the company was Akzo Nobel. Didn't think much of it. Went to the office and they have posters of animals all over. Turns out that they are actually Intervet, the vet medicine branch of a huge conglomerate. Still didn't think much of it until I went out to their research faciltiy. This place is like 3 hours from civilization. They have a big research facility with animals where they do testing, so to avoid PETA and all that they get as far away from anything as possible (I'm in Japan by the way.) So I'm walking through the offices and warehouses saying "yeah, so you'll need a cable here" and what do I see but all these boxes with "Finaplix-H" written on them. Now everything clicks.
The place is completely unguarded. I doubt they even lock the door. I'll be onsite for weekend work. I wonder if anybody would notice if a crate of Fina pellets disappeared...
